Edited by: Darius Shakor on 23/08/2005 13:25:16 OK I'm phoning today to book the Iceland Air 3 nighter, and waiting for them to call back. What struck me as odd was that the flight from heathrow in london leaves at 2110 on the 20th....
Doesn't the fan fest start on the 20th between 1400 and 2000? The timing is a little off I think. Paying for a day at the fan fest I will not be using is a little silly. And the fact that I am the first to ask this to my knowledge is odd too. Am I missing something?
I guess I will have to press for an early day flight if they have them, or fly on the 19th and pay an extra day, right? - - - Just an edit, got the call back and confirmed. Asked this question too, and thats the only flight left that day. The earlier fligt of 1pm was full so thats my question answered.
So I forked out the extra for a flight on the 19th. And why not? An extra day in Iceland is an extra day off work. ------

I think most ppl (including me) will have the problem to miss one day due to the not matching flight and fan fest time. This is very sad :( I wanted to be there on the first day. But it seems "no chance" ...
Anybody has an idea whom to contact at island airways ? I mean, man, I paid 725 euros for this...

You have to fit in with scheduled flights
Icelandair http://admin.icelandair.com/files/filemanager/website1456/file5527374.pdf
Iceland Express http://www.icelandexpress.com/flight_info/schedule/
Then again flights from Glasgow seem to work out nicely, so that's me sorted

Hmmm I would love to see Iceland ... I have security clearance from the wife .. just need the finance.
I really want to see how this game runs from a server perspective ... I wonder if that is covered during the fan fest. -TT

Thats bull****. Finnish section of Iceland Airways raised ticket price for 100 euros up to 850ish but after complaining, they promised to sell with old price. Sadly, their package does NOT include EVE Ticket .. is this discrimination against us finnish smacktalkers or why our price is again one of the highest and does NOT include main fest ticket? _______________________________________________ My opinions aren't my corporations opinions.

Sending off my confirmation form to Icelandair via this new fangled fax thingy...
Iceland, here I come. Nothing can stop me now.

You gotta keep them on their toes buddy and hold them to their words. They will try it on wherever they can. The company I used to work for was like that. Advertise one price, then change the price upwards the next day, with no publication. Charge the new price, but the bottom line was to charge the older lower price if asked for.

Is this the Icelandair package or the Iceland Express package. The Express one doesn't for anyone, nor does it have accomodation according to Kieron.
But Icelandair told me it included the ticket when I phoned them, though this is the GB package. Good luck sorting this out. If it says anywhere that the tickets are included, then press for them or threaten lawsuit for false advertising. ------

Hmm, well as far as I know now, they charged old price.
What comes to package itself, my friend from MC whos booking those said that it will include ticket for airwaves festival AND hotel but no EVE ticket. No idea what I am booking up now but ... I will check _______________________________________________ My opinions aren't my corporations opinions.

Edited by: Darius Shakor on 31/08/2005 10:50:24 Edited by: Darius Shakor on 31/08/2005 10:49:25 OK Kuolematon, I got my pack from Icelandair today. This is still the GB pack but I will tell you what I got in the post.
- Boarding cards for flight and return
- vouchers for FlyBus transfer into Reykjavik on arrival, and to Keflavik airport on departure
- Voucher for hotel booking at the Nordica Hotel
- Voucher for the EVE fan fest entery
- Iceland Airwaves wrist tag ticket
- A whole bunch of boring papers listing all of the above
- My recipt
So I do have the fanfest tickets in my package. Hope that gives you some pushing power.
My dad also spoke to a friend who is an insurance broker to get my travle insurance setup this week too. I got those papers today and had to laugh when I saw he had asked for 'optional winter sports coverage' too. What the heck does he think I will be doing? I don't think slipping in the snow at night while drunk between bars at the airwaves fest counts as winter sports. ------

Hey all, I booked my package way back in like April or so, when the early bird packages were available. The package I got from IcelandAir had the plane tickets, hotel voucher and festival pass. Do I still need to get a ticket for the fanfest separately? Also, I was looking at getting a Passport, but the total is around $160 if I want to make sure I get it in time. Do we absolutely need one to get into Iceland from the US? Thanks!
