Lots of things happening with the FanFest. Tickets are now available for purchase via this link and will be added to the store in the near future. Please note that there are two different ticket types, one for just the FanFest, the other includes entry into the Airwaves venues. If you have purchased a FanFest travel package via Iceland Air, you do not need to purchase a ticket. These tickets should be ordered if you did not purchase a FanFest travel package, made your own travel arrangements, or live in Iceland.
The FanFest Information page has also been updated. New flight options via Iceland Express have been added to the travel sections. If you book flights via Iceland Express, you must make your own hotel accomodations and purchase a FanFest ticket.
More has been added to the event schedule and FanFest attendees will have the chance to purchase some new EVE Store items before they are available to the rest of the world.

Quote: Q: Will the material from the fan fest be made available online for those people who cannot attend the Fanfest? A: Yes, but at a much later date. This is a sneak peak for the attendees only.
When will can we expect to see the stuff from the previous fanfest?
Edit: what will the championship be about? ------------------

Will the airfares change given the current issues with oil prices? Airlines everwhere are cranking their rates to offset the inflation.
Not that I'm going to fanfest mind you... would LOVE to though.

Hmm, does their Iceland Express hotel price count for twin rooms too? (Single EUR 100, Double EUR 125 and Twin 'internet price' EUR 173)
Well, if it doesn't, that puts cost of flights and hotel at around ú500, which means i'll be there.
Sweet.

I'm still waiting for CCP to hook me up with a fully paid Eve VIP trip.
As the days pass I have to confess, it isn't looking likely.

Last year's FanFest material- Discussing distribution of FanFest 2004 dvds. Info coming SoonÖ.
Championships- More information to follow later on, but some of the more notorious PvP'ers that attend are going to have the option to go mano-a-mano in a gladiatorial format.
Trading Card Game- Think Magic, The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh! Again, more information as it comes available.
Flight Ticket Increases???- The FanFest and Airwaves package prices are set and will not increase due to the rising cost of fuel. Attendees making their own travel arrangements will most likely see an increase in price as gas prices increase and the time until the FanFest decreases.

OMGFNG, Please don't do this to our beloved Eve.
I always loved DnD, etc, but everytime I saw the Magic nerds lounging around in McD's for 4 hours, hootin and hollerin about how their pixie pwned someone, it really made me want to go to my local firearms dealer.

I've booked the flights - but the hotel 'eve' package is for 4 nights, not 3 which would fit in with the flights???
thanks for arranging this package - much appreciated!

Also, card games can be fun.

EVE Online TCG/CCG! Finally I can play EVE without my computer!
I hope as well as the cards, there will also be special binders to hold the cards? A CCG for my favourite game deserves something other than stardard UltraPro pocket inserts and some generic binder from the local stationer.

"doubt you can grief with them as well as ingame "
Sure you can....
SMACKTALK IN LOCAL Type: Spell Effect: Distract your opponent with advanced verbal taunts. The opponent's active Ships lose a point from attack and defense values for each Smacktalk card played. Rarity: Common "omg lolol pwnt, noob" -- any EVE pvp'er
STATION CAMPING Type: Trap Effect: Gain definite --if temporary-- tactical superiority. For next 3 rounds the opponent will automatically lose any Ship card they try to enter into play. Rarity: Common "Stop it you pussies and fight me like men" -- anonymous
(ok i don't actually play card games so no idea how it should be really done... >>;

Complete Packages
United States: 675 USD (=554,85 Euros!!!)
e.g. Germany: 725 Euro
Ehh CCP, wanna rip off European Players again?
So this year the EVE Fanfest is held in the US or what...
Cheaper for me to fly to the US from Germany first and then take the Full package to Island back... ____________________ CEO Denial of Service

Fendor, yes, Jon Hallur and RealX are one and the same.
Bob, nobody has one of my corpses, and I would like to keep it that way!
Dosperado, CCP has little to do with the pricing, other than the actual FanFest vouchers/tickets. If you have been following the Iceland Air saga at all, you would know that Iceland Air sets their prices. CCP has been doing everything we can to get better pricing for the players. That is how the Iceland Express package came about. Kindly get the whole story before slamming CCP for something we have little control over. Thanks!

Edited by: Darius Shakor on 23/08/2005 13:25:16 OK I'm phoning today to book the Iceland Air 3 nighter, and waiting for them to call back. What struck me as odd was that the flight from heathrow in london leaves at 2110 on the 20th....
Doesn't the fan fest start on the 20th between 1400 and 2000? The timing is a little off I think. Paying for a day at the fan fest I will not be using is a little silly. And the fact that I am the first to ask this to my knowledge is odd too. Am I missing something?
I guess I will have to press for an early day flight if they have them, or fly on the 19th and pay an extra day, right? - - - Just an edit, got the call back and confirmed. Asked this question too, and thats the only flight left that day. The earlier fligt of 1pm was full so thats my question answered.
So I forked out the extra for a flight on the 19th. And why not? An extra day in Iceland is an extra day off work. ------

I think most ppl (including me) will have the problem to miss one day due to the not matching flight and fan fest time. This is very sad :( I wanted to be there on the first day. But it seems "no chance" ...
Anybody has an idea whom to contact at island airways ? I mean, man, I paid 725 euros for this...

You have to fit in with scheduled flights
Icelandair http://admin.icelandair.com/files/filemanager/website1456/file5527374.pdf
Iceland Express http://www.icelandexpress.com/flight_info/schedule/
Then again flights from Glasgow seem to work out nicely, so that's me sorted

Thats bull****. Finnish section of Iceland Airways raised ticket price for 100 euros up to 850ish but after complaining, they promised to sell with old price. Sadly, their package does NOT include EVE Ticket .. is this discrimination against us finnish smacktalkers or why our price is again one of the highest and does NOT include main fest ticket? _______________________________________________ My opinions aren't my corporations opinions.

Iceland, here I come. Nothing can stop me now.

You gotta keep them on their toes buddy and hold them to their words. They will try it on wherever they can. The company I used to work for was like that. Advertise one price, then change the price upwards the next day, with no publication. Charge the new price, but the bottom line was to charge the older lower price if asked for.
Quote: Sadly, their package does NOT include EVE Ticket ..
Is this the Icelandair package or the Iceland Express package. The Express one doesn't for anyone, nor does it have accomodation according to Kieron.
But Icelandair told me it included the ticket when I phoned them, though this is the GB package. Good luck sorting this out. If it says anywhere that the tickets are included, then press for them or threaten lawsuit for false advertising. ------

Hmm, well as far as I know now, they charged old price.
What comes to package itself, my friend from MC whos booking those said that it will include ticket for airwaves festival AND hotel but no EVE ticket. No idea what I am booking up now but ... I will check _______________________________________________ My opinions aren't my corporations opinions.

Edited by: Darius Shakor on 31/08/2005 10:50:24 Edited by: Darius Shakor on 31/08/2005 10:49:25 OK Kuolematon, I got my pack from Icelandair today. This is still the GB pack but I will tell you what I got in the post.
- Boarding cards for flight and return
- vouchers for FlyBus transfer into Reykjavik on arrival, and to Keflavik airport on departure
- Voucher for hotel booking at the Nordica Hotel
- Voucher for the EVE fan fest entery
- Iceland Airwaves wrist tag ticket
- A whole bunch of boring papers listing all of the above
- My recipt
So I do have the fanfest tickets in my package. Hope that gives you some pushing power.
My dad also spoke to a friend who is an insurance broker to get my travle insurance setup this week too. I got those papers today and had to laugh when I saw he had asked for 'optional winter sports coverage' too. What the heck does he think I will be doing? I don't think slipping in the snow at night while drunk between bars at the airwaves fest counts as winter sports. ------

Hey all, I booked my package way back in like April or so, when the early bird packages were available. The package I got from IcelandAir had the plane tickets, hotel voucher and festival pass. Do I still need to get a ticket for the fanfest separately? Also, I was looking at getting a Passport, but the total is around $160 if I want to make sure I get it in time. Do we absolutely need one to get into Iceland from the US? Thanks!
