Usuming criminal flagging comes in with the new patch for ore thieves, how about this for solo barg miners...
Fit a warp sramb in the med slot (use overview to find your roids) and combat drones. What would be better, heavies or meds to kill indies?

barge pvp setup:
3x small nos
1xwebber
1x400mm plate 1x named mapc
10 x Hammerhead drones
think it fits

I'd use a warp scrambler instead of a webber. Most indies are slow enough, i'd be more concerned about them getting away. Also I'd probably just keep the strip/ice miners fitted, you just need to hold him in place while your drones do the dirty work. Just fit an armor plate and an armor repper in case the indy uses smartbombs or has any weaps fitted. Wouldn't it suck to lose and Iteron 5 to a barge

i think it is gonna be set so that the ore thief can't shoot back without a concord response
this means that a barge fitted with a webby and warp scrambler will be able to kill (using drones) an indy - imagine having a killmail of getting ganked by a BARGE

isn't this a bit unfair to ore thieves though? its still a valuable profession (gets people to spread out).
This is gonna be a bit of a kick in the teeth for them

pshep ore thieves just need to work in pairs, 1 in a bumpageddon to bump them 40km, the other nicks the ore, and there u go,

Hardly, if anything itll make ore theft more interesting. Im still trying to decide if i should become a miner again or possibly an orethief

How about you move in with a BS, take the ore and put in in your own can. And then your friend comes and takes it back to station. If the barge tries to take the ore back then the BS just blows him away.
