Hmmm, Australia is a little biased. Some of us Kiwis like having a place to live too. Oceania or Australasia would be a better option.

Done. (I am in a good mood because for some reason I can access the forums from work today for the first time ever .)
As I've said on the survey, I reckon your questionnaire is missing a major reason why people play EVE - many people don't like the fantasy genre. I certainly have no intention of spending precious free time hitting rats with clubs in holes in the ground. A lot of people out there are looking for "Elite the MMORPG" (do a websearch for Elite if you've never heard of it - pesky kids...) and EVE is pretty much the only option on offer (and a damn fine one too).
Good luck with this.

Completed the survey. I am curious however, as to how you're going to discribe your respondent group. As you're approaching forum dwellers; I am sure these are not representative for the entire player base. How are you going to correct your results for that? Best of luck with your thesis.

Done. GL on the thesis. Congrats on the rugrat.
I think the forums will offer a fine cross section of the mindsets within Eve population. I don't think they are so biased as to adversely effect your findings via the randomness(or lack there of) of your sample population.

I don't think they are so biased as to adversely effect your findings via the randomness(or lack there of) of your sample population. No it won't be representative of the enitre player base, but it will be indicative of the resounding thoughts throughout the community, which is probably all you really need.
Hey all and thanks for the participation.
I think Quanteeri put it nicely about the bias of forum users versus non forum users, and also the great participation I am getting from you guys will give me some good average of the total population (by the way I was thinking more in lines of getting a good participation to overcome the bias of forum dwellers versus non-forum dwellers, but that was put nicely).
Thanks again guys, I really appreciate it. Best regards, Drakar Dukay
p.s. the rugrat says hi (well he said something, and lets interpret it as a hi).

That seems a far more viable approach than 'gut feelings' about the population. The examples of bad statistics can be found on a daily basis, just read newspapers. When I mark my students' work I always make them explain how they support their conclusions, and how reliable they think their findings are.
