Right back at ya.
Stain has been around since the start of EVE.
Firmus Ixion has been around over 2 years (I think?) since the fall of CFS.
Fountain has been around since the start of EVE, though not in its present form.
PA has existed since the start of EVE, though it has died and resurrected itself about 5 times...
In addition, my point was that *alliances* had been around for 3 years, and probably will continue to be around until EVE dies.
No non-alliance will ever be able to field a force to counter that of an alliance, therefore alliances will always exist.

All alliances die. All alliances cannot stop people from coming to "their" region. All alliance say the same things that you said because if that bull**** stops then it is best proof that that alliance is dead.
Why are you rolling your eyes at me? I roll my eyes anytime I hear that some space is closed. And really I can get in and you cannot stop people from getting in. You want a screenshot of your home system? So I can .

Alliances die.
The concept does not.
There will always be alliances.
The only difference will be their names.
I doubt any alliance that exists today will be around 5 years from now.
But I doubt 5 years from now that there will be no alliances.

Has one corporation ever successfully controlled an entire region of 0.0 for more than a year without any help?

You know like you act like you are in charge. What gives you this idea that what you say is better than what I say?
To be even more precise. I go to the space that you claim to NPC. You cannot stop me. You call me a leech.
At the same time there is tons of people in every alliance who do precisely this: leech. They dont defend or they take stupid risks and ask for compensation for their losses or they have RL issues that preclude them from doing something. Fine they are your mates you accept them as they are. But they are in fact leeching.
I dont leech. I go where I want to go and I operate just fine.
So again what gives you the idea that you calling me a leech holds any water. I dont care what you call me. I am just curious what gives you in your mind the high moral ground when you use a region how you want to use it and I use it how I want to use it. So what makes you right and me wrong? And what gives you the right to judge me? Kapish?

No, they are leeches. And at least in FIX, they're not allowed. According to alliance rules, EVERYONE has to be prepared to fight for the defense of our home region.
Anyways, I have to go for now. I think CYVOK has already posted the message of this thread--its now just going to head into trollville. -- Proud member of the [23].

you can "Claim" regions all you want but really everyone pays the same fee and everyone has the right to use that space. 95% of 0.0 is NPC sovereignty so no one has and real claim at all. If you want to pretend its yours and "defend" it go ahead but calling others names for using it is rather stupid.
At the time of day that i play a 0.0 region with 6 pilots in space is rare. If i want to use that space I will.

Do you know what corp you are in sir? Well you must, your the ceo.
Read your description. "A Merc corp with a conscience.
The new face of OSW.
If the cause is just, we will fight like hell. If it isnt, keep your damned ISK."
Your attempt to be insulting and inflammatory only show your complete lack of understanding. I know what my corp description says, I wrote it. How does that have ANYTHING to do with what I posted...or with what you posted that I quote below, for that matter?
Originally by: RnD Guy Now read this:
Originally by: Saatar Fora because they could easily create alts or hire unkown people to sneak an entire force into our territory.
Understand now?
If you took the time to read my entire post, and contemplate it's full intent before growing a chip on your shoulder and firing off uninformed insults, you would see that I stated that I DP understand FULLY the need for an alliance to KOS neutrals IN THEIR SPACE. Watch, I'll quote it since you obviously missed it the first time. Originally by: TjanitN Tcroxlr Maybe RESPECTABLE alliances have a valid reason for KOSing neutrals in THEIR space. But none of this applies to ATUK as they are not respectable and Tegheon is not their space.
Originally by: Dark Shikari
Originally by: TjanitN Tcroxlr I beg to differ. I dont know if it is the whole alliance, But Arcane Technologies do indeed attemp to KOS neutrals for no apparent reason.
That is ATUK.
That is not FIX.
That is not ASCN.
I am fully aware of that, Sir, nor had I any intentions of implying it was FIX or ASCN. I have the HIGHEST respect for ASCN for many reasons. 1)They were the first to manage to assemble an outpost. 2)The were VERY tollerant of "rubberneckers" 3)They keep a main passage through THEIR region for travellers to pass through. 4)They only KOS neutrals in THEIR space and only off the "Highway" that they provide. Again someone seems to have allowed the chip on their shoulder affect their reading skills so I will repost the quote to which I was responding. Originally by: Dark Shikari No major alliance KOSs everyone "for kicks." They KOS for survival.
Maybe The Five isnt what you consider a "major alliance". I dont know what you consider a major alliance. Maybe The Five arent all as kill happy as one of their member corps. I havent had any dealings with any other corps in that alliance. But your assertion that NO ONE kos's "just for kicks" is apparently false, because ATUK does.
People, before you take issue with something you think I said, read it again and make sure I really said what you think I said. Find out what I REALLY said, and then if you still have issues with my opinions, offer some LOGICAL counter-opinions. Not some lame, "read your corp description" which has NOTHING to do with ANY of this.

An alliance which may need to hire a merc corp? Or maybe an alliance which has no claim, legal or otherwise, on the system in which the two meet? What smart alliance would go out of their way to make enemies who make a living by eliminating enemies? ATUK's actions in this case are anything but those of a smart alliance.

Yup--there is quite a distinction. At the moment, there seem to be three categories of alliances:
1) Classic alliance. Example: ASCN. Against empire piracy and killing non-combat neutrals (i.e. miners, etc). Keeps its space closed, usually. Mostly industrial, but PvPs when necessary, which is usually quite often.
2) PvP alliance. Example: [5]. They conquer stations and let citizen corps mine to pay for their wars through mining taxes. They claim huge swaths of space, not because they can keep them secure (they can't do so nearly as effectively as a single-region alliance), but because if someone tries to take them, they can take it right back and laugh. These often allow empire piracy.
3) Empire alliance. Doesn't claim any space, completely against all PvP against anyone except -10s. Complete obvious empire war bait, and may exist merely to avoid corp "grief" wars.
