Ok...Ill set the scene..... Just set up a deal to go buy a brand new MOA for 5.5 mill. The only catch was that i had to go 37 jumps to get it and the last 9 were in 0.0 space. I must admit i was slightly paranoid of this and took the precautions of upgrading my clone and using a shuttle, ok i set off and head there. ive went only 5 jumps and im at 0.3 system(name escapes me but caldari area at the north) And i turn up at a gate. Ok what the f**k is that. My shuttle was jammed from warping and i watch as some gimps launch some drones but they didnt get near as my ship was already destroyed. (somehow i managed to get my pod away). and i flew for the nearest station. At this point i forgot 2 turn off autopilot while i looked for these people to ask y they nuked me. To my horror my pod had warped straight back to the gate but at such an angle they never seen me and i got past. After finding these people i asked why they picked on a shuttle. There response was "we thought a bunch of ships were coming for us" FFS...are u blind. a shuttle is the smallest ship in the game and is a bit different to a Cruiser. And that doesnt explain why they tried to pod me.(they definitly fired on it)
To cut a long story short i was attacked for no reason, no cargo to loot, no threat. I aint against PKing and i aint moaning but to nail the most harmless ship in the game is sad.
Parties involved were Smarttass and Billy bob.
(The irony is that im sure these guys were part of the corp that i got my MOA from)

They will just attack anything in sight, as the fact is that sometimes ****ty ships are carrying good stuff, thinking that you wont shoot em down.

When camping a gate its important to set a few rules, I tend to stop indies / cruisers as they are something you might get cash out of, but frigates / shuttles are a waste of time stoping, so just nuke it...who knows, sometimes people carry nice stuff in shuttles

Sounds like they set up the Moa deal to lure people into their blockade. The corp in question probably isn't producing Moas at all.

Too true.
A frig travelling in non-empire space has a high chance of carrying something valuable. But, I have rarely seen either in insecure space actually, its almost always cruisers or BS.
New players will usually not take a frig or shuttle to 0.0 space, and if they do, getting destroyed is a good lesson about the risks of insecure space.

That's too bad just remember any time you are flying in a low level zones your an easy target for pirates. You should use your map and see if they where any destroyed ships in the areas your entering, this will give you an idea in proceeding or turning back and looking elsewhere for a MOA.

Devil Mann, I can understand your frustration. I can also understand why your shuttle got shot down:
If you were in a large attacking force, would you want someone to scout in a battleship, and risk losing it, or would you rather them risk losing a shuttle? Many many spies fly in free ships/shuttles.
Additionally, shuttles might have **** for cargo space, but I've gotten at least 5 of the skills that I currently have trained from shuttles, and quite a few BP's as well.
The best way to avoid this is to keep an eye on Local.

Oh and I got my MOA for 5.3 mil. and got it all the way back with no problems. I just found it funny that i got nailed 6 jumps from my HQ in 0.5 space(was 0.3 were i got nailed) and not the last 9 jumps i had 2 make in 0.0 space. Now i use a frigate with Warp Stabilisers and run like hell when i c cruisers camping gates.
But one thing.....nail the shuttle to get whatever cargo is onboard...but y pod someone if they donyt have a bounty?
Is it Because these people were nevr hugged as children by there parents. Do they have trouble relating to people and there way of saying hello is *BANG*

I have had dealingd with smart ass. I was on the phoine to my mate and we were both playing eve, warping to a 0.0 system. my mate was in a thorax about 1 just ahead of me and for no reason smart ass attacked him also. They diekd it out and trashed each other pretty bad but cos I was on the phone i was able to help, my mate wapred as they were fighting near the gate. as he wapred out, i warped in! I didnt wast any time, I started to shoot him with my med bams, 250s and my good old widow makers. Id have destroyed him to if it wasnt for the fact that like all noob gate campers he warped. I gave chase and found him out side a starbase! in the head of the moment I resumed my attack and didnt think about the fact that the stations defences would intervean! so I had to make my tacticle retreat! bah next time i'll get him. I feel ok though as I told my corp of the incident and they hunted, found and destroyed his ship, a thorax! not nice to loose a cruiser, any cruiser! The difference is we exchanged banter via eve mail and he seemed quite honorable in the fact that he said hed NOT have podded us had he had the chance! but after reading this my level of respect has just dropped! I think any one who attacks a shuttle or a significantly smaller/weaker vessel with no reason is a coward! and has no honour! as for smartass I dont know what i figure of him, hes an odd 1!

Let me assure you this guy would have podded you...no matter how he sounds... they 2 of them did try to pod me i know that for a fact and how i got away was a miracle( let alone warp straght back and get past em) But another Incident involving Billy bob occured to a new member of my corp as he came to the system i was in....He was coming in his Indy and billy bob Jammed his ship and nailed it. Fair enough. If i was in an Indy they would more than likely have a large or good cargo. So by all means they have a right to try and fire. BUT why pod em.....No bounty or nothing. This billy bob claims to have some honour and says he wouldnt pod ya. Hes a lying bastard whos a coward who jumps througha gate at the closest oppurtunity. by the way i was also attacked by a dominix in my MOA. Id like to laugh at the loser who couldnt finish the job. Avengalince. Or some crappy name like that. Once again no warning and no asking for a toll charge,.....but i got away this time and im really getting ****ed with these pirates in 0.0 space. I am at ochushi, in North Caldari Space. Im looking for all Battleship,cruiser and even frigates to help get this scum out of our area. (OBE, the joining system to the first 0.0 system there is always guarded) We have 3 to 4 cruisers to spare to anyone who wants a hand there. ask for me or Any WILL corp pilots. And if someone spots billy bob or Smarttass plz PM or EVEmail me there Locle as my corp is now looking for them.

People who run when they are outnumbered are not noob's, they're smart. Once again, there is absolutely no reason to give your ship up if there is a chance of salvaging it.

So the moral of this was that this guy was a noob gate camper because he won a battle in his cruiser against your friend (who was in a cruiser), but then couldn't finish you off while you were in your cruiser?

People who run when they are outnumbered are not noob's, they're smart. Once again, there is absolutely no reason to give your ship up if there is a chance of salvaging it.
Is it just me, or are those who talk **** on the people who warp/jump to avoid the destruction of their ships almost always hypocrites?

So the moral of this was that this guy was a noob gate camper because he won a battle in his cruiser against your friend (who was in a cruiser), but then couldn't finish you off while you were in your cruiser?

i have no problem gettin through these ambush places in my MOAMWD hit module before exiting warp, exit at 1600 mps they barely get me targeted i been webbed,again my momentum lets me drift to gate,even battleships if u pay attention what can they do there are no problems, only solutions |

Kill my shuttle cos i use it as well a shuttle. And i don't use implants lost a few and now can't be bothered.If it takes two Bs or Whatever hope the waste of ammo was worth it

Even shuttles can have good loot, I've shot down shuttles with 20-30 mil worth of modules in cargo. The pod pops kinda nice so that is just a must. =P

Ohhh, yeah!!
Anyways. I have horrible luck with shuttles. Everyone who comes my way knows that shuttles warp faster than i can even lock onto them. If they don't have instas, they just warp away after seeing me. The only time I've bagged a shuttle in months is an alt spy who wasn't paying much attention.

I can't believe you were willing to travel 37 jumps to buy a Moa for 5.5mil, especially with so much of the travel being in low sec. As a newer player I'd rather spend the extra 2-3 mil(if that) and buy one in empire somewhere, and use the hour or more of free time to run a couple missions and make back some of the extra isk spent.
Ofcourse that's just me.
