It is such a shame that players need to cheat, grief, thieve, spy and a whole host of other things that we have now come to accept as part of this game.
But, when a player/corp actually tell lies and posts to the kill boards about ficticious kills - well - that really sucks.
TeamAmerica are posting kills that they are doctoring. Changing frigates to BS's to get their points up.
What ever next. Come on 'boys' - grow up, play properly and have some honour.

if you made it up or not, i think posting death notes on killboards is sick. how do you think their grieving families would feel?

How does that board work, do people just copy/paste the killmail? If so, I can only guess that most of the reports are either fake or changed in some way.

Just shows how idiotic people who use killboards are in the first place... How about you play the game and not worry about "points" so much, they aren't worth anything.

The only way to prevent falsified killmails is for CCP to intigrate a built in system, of which, they don't want to deal with, and honestly, neither does anyone else.
It would change the outlook of the game to one of points chasing, and honesty.

 - they even podded a scorpion that the named pilot can't even fly - how sad. Funny how a frigate suddenly morphed to become a Scorpion. I also notice that they conveniently forgot to post that they are getting their arses whipped but not posting those kill mails - I wonder why?

People who think the point of Eve is to kill as many people as possible to get points on a killboard are just silly.
Heck, I don't mind if you're a PvPer and you post your kills to kind of keep score in a war or whatever, but people clearly get a bit too obsessed with their killboards...
I mean most so called "Pirates" aren't even interested in stealing anything, they just kill whatever to get kills. I don't think it was ever intended in this game that people get killed just because some people think Eve is a big Deathmatch.
Killboards don't make this game better, they have made a mockery out of piracy and CCP should never acknowledge that they want them in their game by allowing cheat-proof output from the game.

Still trying to figure out how the site works, lol. I don't see any place to upload anything. Their help page is extremely useful. It tells you how to donate money to them, that's pretty much it.

I am not into PVPing and I do not and will not care about my kill stats, but saying that people who think the point of Eve is xxx are silly, is actually a silly thing to say. The point of eve is different for every player. Eve is what you make it, any good mmorpg should be this way. You cannot "win" Eve, you can only progress your character in a way that is fun for you. For me, it's the team effort, the journey. but that's only -my- opinion, I can't discount anyone elses opinion, no matter how much it conflicts with my own.
EDIT - Though I agree they should limit their goals at least to something within the game, not a killboard that isn't supported by CCP

type www.eve-kills.com into your ingame browser, it will ask you to register, once ytou register and log in you can submit a kill mail to the site.
The site is probably going to be closing later in the year as the developer and person who ran it was killed in a car accident with his bicycle.
there are other killboards that are similar that kill mails can also be faked on because they are not run by ccp and thus there is no way to verify a valid killmail from a fake one.

You sign upto it through the ingame browser and you copy and paste your kill mails into a form within the ingame browser. The ingame browser uses a Trust system so they know how posts each kill mail but as nik has pointed out because the kill mail can be edited like TheHutch has done from TeamAmerica.

Exactly that is the point of me saying its silly. It was never supposed to be part of the game to just kill people at random to get points on a killboard. If someone kills people because they want their stuff or thei're at war with them - Ok, whatever, I don't have to like it but I respect the idea of it. If someone just kills people to get points on a killboard that is not an intended part of the game it's just stupid though.

My view is killboards are a good idea but as everything thats open to abuse it has been ruined...
Killboards are only good for in house tracking of corp members and what wars cost.

CCP can and should implament a kill tracker for declared wars. As for an overall tracker it would just give people more of a reason to gank. A tracker for wars would be cool so we could actually have official winners.

it is useful for keeping track of your own kills as noone believes eve-kills.com anyway. and no there shouldnt be an official killboard.

Please do not discuss killboard and how people cheat with them, there hasn't been any constructive thread about it, and I will lock this one.
If you want to suggest to CCP to have a way to register kills so they can't be faked then please write a thread on the Feature and Ideas Discussion forum.
