Well played CCP, lets have a live event, that NO ONE CAN COME TOO!
I move ships up there, dock in station, can't log into Luminaire.
Well, at least you've proved even more incompetent than usual. Once again I have to wonder why I keep any accounts open. The single biggest danger to EVE is the proliferation of ALTS! Kill an alt today!

Vincent Athena wrote:CCP said they will not be pushing up the cap until fighting starts. They want to see the effect on the server with fighting, not just ships sitting in space. (Or docked, like Jita. The load per player docked is less than one in space, which is less than one in a big fur ball fighting).
Also, it is a reinforced node, just like Jita has.
I have this crazy dream, that the infrastructure guys in CCP go hat in hand to the purse-holders (and dev team) and make them realize they really need to implement a dynamic resource allocating architecture from the kernal up, that can dynamically respond to hot spots with more horsepower, without manually pre-re-enforcing nodes, etc etc.
If you are really serious about this 'single sandbox' concept (and not multiple shards), you need to take dynamic resource allocation more seriously than lipstick-on-a-pig TiDi, 24 notification on re-enforce nodes & other workarounds...IMHO. What happens when the gaming media for example catch wind of the fact the EVE single-shard sandbox is vaporware, and that as soon as a big battle ensues TiDi and re-enforce node fail manifests?
I can see the counter-ad's now from WoW or others. "Yeah we are multi-shard, but at least your character wont freeze on you mid battle...". Ouch. http://evedarklord.blogspot.ca |

Funny this restriction on a 1.0 system... reading the threads around here, you'd think that every high sec system is jam-packed with scared carebears 23/7 and every highsec note would be permebeefed to handle thousands of players at once.

You seem to have not been watching the news recently. There was a huge battle, completely unscripted, US$22K worth of destroyed ships... And TiDi did its thing. The completely un-reenforced node held the load, even as half the galaxy was streaming towards the fight.

Your client has waited 5 minutes for a remote call to complete. This could mean that the server is very loaded.
Please be patient, chances are that the call will complete eventually but depending on the load it might be considerable time.
Click here to see the remote call debug viewer Yes, I'm an alt. Congratulations. |

Spent the last couple of days looking forward to this, never managed to get my alt in despite trying all afternoon. I'm sure CCP tried their best but this has been incredibly disappointing :(
Asakai had more with no notice, Jita has more every day, I understand the hardware has limitations but it just feels like you set the arbitrary population limit way too low given the amount of promotion and hype for the event and the inevitable amount of people who would be interested in it. There were well over a thousand people in the surrounding systems who spent hours trying to get in. I don't imagine many of them leaving without feeling bummed out.
On the plus side, yay gallente. |

Still a VAST amount superior and more functional than the old days of 'black screem for an hour, then wake up in a blank clone.' So cute when people have no idea what the alternative could be and was.
You want less TiDi, stay in your home system. Me, I'm not going to kick. Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

So cute when weeks-old forum alts have no idea what the alternative could be and was. I was in Asakai. There were more people in system on an unreinforced node and yet it was just as bad as today with a population cap and previous node reinforcement.
Yeah, it's better than black screen, but not my much. It's not something to champion like you seem to think it is. Yes, I'm an alt. Congratulations. |

Most I've seen at a single moment ik Luminaire today was 2060 which was at 18% TiDi. |

I was in Asakai as well - from the very beginning of the escalation. Asakai was about 5 times worse than today. It took half an hour to warp from the main battle to the station in Asakai. Today in Luminaire it took about 5 or so minutes. Module clicks could actually be controlled today once you got the hang of it. Asakai was a dice roll. :) So for 2K people Luminaire went pretty well with TiDi. Not so well for the other 2 to 3K people stuck outside the system. Also - this was out of prime login period for EVE, an hour or two later and things would have been even worse for those outside.
