*PUBLIC BROADCAST FROM ALESIUS LERANCE, FORMER UNDERSECRETARY TO THE CALDARI INFORMATION BUREAU*
Citizens of the State. I know full well that the comm channels are inundated with broadcast such as this, but please, be patient and here me now. This is not intended to be a rallying cry for a counterattack, a plea for peace or revolutionary outrage. This is a Caldari Citizen excercising his right to speak and express displeasure at recent events to those above him in the Hierarchy.
On the 29th of the of the third month, 6 days from now, a formal and peaceful protest shall be held in New Caldari from 18:00 to 23:59. The object of this demonstration is to extract an explanation from either from the Caldari Navy, the Providence Directorate or the Chief Executive Panel as to how and why the Shiigeru was not sufficiently supported during the battle for the homeworld. Further to this, we will demand an explanation as to why additional reinforcements were not sent when the battle turned against us, or why our ships were not withdrawn. If this information is not available, the we will demand a formal inquiry into the battle so that the State still gets it's answers.
This will be achieved by congesting New Caldari, blocking station docking bays and making our demands frequent, loud and clear in local comm channel. I look forward to seeing fellow loyalists alongside me on that day. Our thoughts and prayers to the families of the lost, may the Winds watch over them.

One does not simply bring more capital ships into the home system of your enemy. The 37th wing was lucky enough that tey were able to get into Luminaire at all.
http://community.eveonline.com/news/newsFromEve.asp?of=true&newsTitle=federation-navy-fleet-arrives-in-luminaire-caldari-navy-deploys-in-response-1
This news report states that the 37th was only able to arrive due to the Federation navy lowering int cyno jamming array's in order to jump in their own capital fleet. in essence our forces piggy backed on the federal navy's response fleet. in order to bring in any additional reinforcements would have meant either doing what the Elders did back in YC110 and take CONCORD offline or pray that the Federation jumped in more capitals. While there was a Capsuleer support fleet assisting the Titan we numbered barely 190. The Gallente numbered well over 200 capsuleer's plus their numerically superior capital fleet. There was also the matter of the other 500+ capsuleer's in system all looking for targets of opportunity.
As to why they didn't retreat, well i cant speak for the Admiral but im sure she would say something about duty and dying above our homeland being the greatest honor of all. i would also imagine that most if not all of the capital ships were being prevented from jumping out due to the fact they were in the middle of a warzone.

Capsuleers in general are a wildcard in any conflict nowadays. Its not secret we are vastly superior to baseliner manned spacecraft.
Why not protest in Jita? Congesting the trade hub and arguably the richest source of tax for both the navy and the mega corporations would be FAR more effective. Hit them in the wallet book. We are Caldari after all.
We NEED to be investigating Heth. This is all on his head, in my opinion, and those immediately under him.
Also, need I remind you we were grandstanding about committing genocide prior to the tragic loss of the Shiigeru? |

CONCORD is stopping our war being prosecuted to it's fullest extent. It is their fault that this conflict has been going around in circles in low-sec. Without them, the war would've been over long ago. Win or lose, I do not care, but at least the bloodshed would've ended.
Jita's comm channels are already clogged to hell and the Gate's are often closed due to heavy traffic. That implies to me that flying a protest fleet in there won't cause much of a deviation from normality, assuming we can even get in in the first place. Furthermore, it's not Genocide if you're only getting rid of them on ONE planet. |

But the scale of an all-out war of annihilation is several orders of magnitude greater than the fallout from the limited engagements of the Militia Act. It would be more correct to say that without them, the war would've begun long ago. |

How convenient. So your citizens see fit to complain for 2 centuries that the whole Federation somehow wanted all of you dead previously, by bombarding one planet, but when it's your turn to threaten genocide on one planet, it's not "really" genocide because "huh, they have more planets, they will be fine."
You are both a hypocrite and sadly miss-informed to boot.

I see no reason to take notes, Turelus? Unless you're there to serve as an impartial observer to ensure no misbehavior on either side. Provocative action on the part of the protestors which results in action against them should be noted; similarly, overly-enthusiastic suppression of a protest should be noted.
Otherwise, these citizens are free to speak as they'd like -- just as we are free to ignore them. |

Indeed! I made a much more eloquent analysis of the battle my self, but both of these "citizens" are correct, Caldari Prime is a Gallente Liberated world, but it stands to reason that Caldari Prime is an essential part of The Caldari Identity. If the Caldari intend to enact an unconditional surrender of Gallente Control of Caldari Prime, to the corporations of the Caldari, you may whether or not you know it, Operation Highlander was a SUCCESS. Insight a Gallente Massacre of these "protesters," Listen now, both factions will be faced with a new challenge all together, the reinvestment of an all out Caldari Gallente war, for the simple principles of unity and identity, which the Gallente hold so dear. Unless the idea of an easy victory disheartens these mis-guided Gallente youth.
As capsuleers we are not necessarily faced with a choice of enacting genocide, Caldari culture has never been opposed to conducting business with the Gallente, and not all of these citizens need be forced to make a living for them selves they will do this on their own, for the sake of *grimace "Freedom." Though in belief of this system which has persisted longer than the conflict itself, We have stated that it is in the explicit interest of the Caldari, its political factions, and its corporations to have financial control of the Luminaire system and its resources for the political and historical solidarity of the Caldari and its culture; for the purposes of the relocation of ALL Federation Military Stations and the explicit cooperation of CONCORD in the sole military control of Luminaire, its moons and outposts excluding Luminaire VI.
May I remind any Caldari and any "Gallente youth present." of Anvent Eturrer.
"Caldari Prime is the homeworld of the Caldari people, and is located in the Gallente system of Luminaire (which also contains the Gallente homeworld)
Until recently the planet was claimed by and occupied for almost two centuries by the Gallente Federation, following the Gallente-Caldari War. Following unprecedented, state wide cooperation under the leadership of Tibus Heth, a massive invasion force successfully penetrated Federation defenses and the planet is now once again claimed as a sovereign world of the Caldari State, a status which is enforced by the presence of a Caldari Navy Leviathan-class Titan and its support fleet, which remains in orbit."
"This site commemorates a monumental battle between the Gallente Federation and the Caldari State.
A Leviathan-class Titan with the callsign Shiigeru had been the symbol of the State's chokehold of Caldari Prime, floating in orbit over the planet and carrying the implicit threat of mass destruction if the Federation dared approach.
When conflict on the planet boiled over, the Federation put into action a bold plan to liberate the planet from the Titan's clutches, codenamed Operation Highlander. It resulted in Shiigeru's destruction, albeit one that left the planet scarred and bruised, and in the renewed freedom of the citizens of Caldari Prime."
If you have not read the official transcription which resulted in the destruction of a CONCORD battleship you can read it here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2778107
"Caellach Marellus : "BREAKING NEWS GÇô A Marshal-class battleship belonging to CONCORD was engaged and destroyed by the Caldari Navy fleet in orbit of Caldari Prime less than ten minutes ago.
General Odo Korachi, a senior commander with the Directive Enforcement Department, had been dispatched from Yulai to monitor the ongoing situation in Luminaire after the hostilities escalated to a full-scale military conflict this afternoon.
On arrival, his vessel was seen entering low orbit of Caldari Prime and deploying scanning equipment in an apparent attempt to assess the situation. The Caldari Navy responded with demands from Admiral Visera Yanala that the DED Officer vacate orbit of the planet immediately. After no response, the Caldari Navy repeated the demand and gave five minutes for the CONCORD vessel to withdraw, claiming that the DED was in violation of a Caldari Navy-enforced no-fly zone.
Reportedly General Korachi then refused to withdraw, explaining that he had been dispatched as a representative of the CONCORD Assembly to ensure that any conflict was occurring within the boundaries of the Yulai Convention. It is not known whether any further communication occurred between the two vessels, but moments later his vessel was engaged and destroyed by the Shiigeru and her support fleet.
The Caldari Navy action was met with immediate response by the Directive Enforcement Department, who have declared a state of emergency in Luminaire and announced that a full-scale traffic advisory and global suspect flagging of all pilots in the Luminaire system is imminent." I'll hit you with a long list of bad poetry from here, send me a personal email for my playlist. |

Quote:Re: The protest in New Caldari From: SGRA Sent: 2013.03.30 17:40 To: Worlds Without Boundaries, Alesius Lerance, HAHAHA CONGRATULATIONS Alesius! What a Fantastic Demonstration!! I wish I had been there to deliver my speech but I wasn't able to finish it for the Forum until this morning! Odo Hakaalen n++[ 2013.03.29 19:30:13 ] Odo Hakaalen > The Chief Executive Panel are currently in talks with the Gallente Senate regarding the situation on Caldari Prime. This is all that can be revealed publicly at present. Alesius You NEED to remember that the destruction of the Leviathan was a deliberate act of "freedom." This for all intensive purposes is supposed to be the final blow to the "occupation" of Caldari Prime, and essentially the Final blow to the war between the Caldari and the Gallente. History has chosen its victor, and it makes an offer the spirit of the caldari their courage and determination. With the "Rebellious Caldari" finally outed from Luminaire VII, we have been officially been 'evicted' because of our rebellion against the Federation. Focused Clear minded and not given to whim, we are calculating ruthless, but we are not Gallente, given to whimsy and distraction. We make efforts that see real results. You are a true Caldari. Some of us have made comparisons to the Palestine, and Gaza, But if you ask me it is more akin to the national crisis of the Korean state. We are now no longer welcome inside of Luminaire, we cannot fight in high security space, if you want real power we will have to move to null sec, that is the truth, the Caldari lead by Heth, have been nothing but a source of evil, There are rumers of an illness striking at the very heart of the Executor, may he recover and focus his energies away from the disagreements between the Factions of the Caldari and the Gallente. I suggest you focus on your wallet friend, for we must Celebrate! What it means to truly be Caldari has been decided. Contrary to the loss of a Leviathan, we have finally let go and can now embrace our independence as a united faction unique to all of New Eden, with all its own laws and traditions. The protest in New Caldari From: Alesius Lerance Sent: 2013.03.29 20:28 To: Worlds Without Boundaries, I feel I need to set the record straight on this before the rumour mill brands me a traitor. After the battle for the homeworld went so badly is space last week, I decided that we needed to know why things had gone that way. So I issued a public broadcast calling for fellow pilots to join me in a protest outside the CEP station demanding answers or an inquiry to get those answers. I left you all out of the loop so that if the State decided to make the protest 'disappear' the corp would survive and Blade's honour would be intact. After just two hours the public relations officer for the CEP declared that investigations were underway and that the CEP was in talks with the Gallente Senate. The protest was a success. Here's the original broadcast: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&find=unread&t=218066And here's the chatlogs: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7890196/EVE_RP/New_Caldari_Protest.zip "Where's my brushes I miss my brushes." http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/After_the_Fall_%28Chronicle%29 http://community.eveonline.com/backstory/chronicles/ |
