EVE is FGÇÖcking real. In the dangerous and unfriendly lands of the EVE forums there is a little kingdom hidden in a far corner. This kingdom is known as OOPE and is a kingdom of friendliness and respect where both players, trolls and ISDs post together in harmony. From her castle, the LAGL thread, Alice Saki also known as the Queen of likes. But she is not like the queens in fairytales like Snow White and Narnia. No, she is a Queen loved and liked by everyone. And I have written this thread to celebrate the 40k like milestone which was reached by our lovely queen. But this thread is just a small part of the celebration. We planned a little surprice party for her where she received an Archon as a gift from the OOPE community. EVE is a game known for backstabbing and mistrust, yet I still managed to convince 11 players to trust me their ISK so we could purchase an Archon for her. And out of these 11 players only 2 of them were players who have played the game with me. The rest are from different alliances and have never played with me or each other. And this basically sums up the LAGL community as well as the actual EVE community. Because no matter how much ISK you got, it still canGÇÖt replace what friends who trust you can offer and there is this old EVE saying: The best ship is friendship. The Party video will be up soon and BP has recorded her reaction on comms Sadly, out of the 12 contributors only 3 could show up. Zimmy and I in stealthbombers with festival launchers and Jonah Gravenstein in a frig with festival launchers. We were waiting in Vestouve when Alice suddenly showed up. It caught us by surprise since the initial plan was different (see below) and I started to panic a bit. But luckily it caught Alice by surprise even more. We were still waiting for Buhhdust Princess to get his archon alt in position. I located Alice in the 2nd station and Zimmy and I waited cloaked outside. Then BP asked if we were ready and I told him to go. Alice undocked and lit a CYN0. Zimmy and I charged towards her while firing fireworks and Joneh undocked and fired as well. Suddenly Spaceships jumped in a few Black Ops and they had a bunch for repair drones to rep her since they couldnGÇÖt fit launchers on the BO. The party really took her by surprise. I posted in the LAGL thread that we should give Alice a titan when she reached 50k likes because she gave a Monocle to Zimmy Zeta when he reached 10k likes (That monocle is now a LAGL tradition and will pass on to members who reach 10k likes). Zimmy Zeta then corrected me (while still joking) that a titan would be too expensive for us so a Carrier was more realistic. Not much happened until Zimmy and I later received a mail from Random McNally who asked us if we were serious, which we initially werenGÇÖt but then when I thought about it I liked the idea (pun is unintended). So I sent out mails to players who frequently posted in LAGL and asked if they wanted to contribute to this gift. And we ended up being 12 contributors. However at this stage Alice was still far from 50k likes as well as 40k likes, so we chose to move it to 40k, so we can spread the joy earlier. The next step was to get a carrier. Initially the plan was to build it since Random has an alt that can make caps. But suddenly AliceGÇÖs posting increased rapidly and we started to doubt if we could construct it in time, so we chose to buy one instead. I contacted AliceGÇÖs alliance leader Buhhdust Princess and told him about the idea and asked about which carrier she most likely wanted. The answer was an Archon. It surprised quite a few of the contributors, but the answer is simple. The character Alice isnGÇÖt the main. I also spoke with BP about making a surprice event for Alice. The plan was simple. The contributors and I would gather in the system where the Archon was located and BP would arrange a Black Ops fleet like they often do. However instead of dropping on top of an unsuspecting enemy they would drop on us who would shoot fireworks at Alice while cheering in local. And I would contract the carrier to her. And you have been a major part of this community to such a degree that activity of the community scales with the activity of your posting. Not only have you contributed to keep the LAGL thread active, you have also kept friendly and random discussions going, and you have always provided us with entertainment and smiles. And oddly enough, your love for coffee is something we can permanently talk about. Congratulations for reaching 40k likes. ThatGÇÖs quite a lot and it is near the amount of EVE players that is online during a calm day. I was really shocked by how amazing this event turned out to be. All the hapiness, all the joy. It is one of the most amazing things I have done in EVE. A big thanks to everyone who made it possible. EVE is freaking real. -Miz We will never forget you Saede!

The sudden appearance of lots of reds via cyno, while expected, still made me go "oh shieet", that and the horrendous lag I was suffering made me a little slow off the mark, I was half expecting a socket closed error because of the time between activating the launcher and it actually spamming fireworks. Awesome work by Miz for organising it all, and thanks to everybody who made it happen. Eve in a nutshell, it's you vs the universe, and every machiavellian space bastard in it.
