Me likey, I love this site more and more. More wonderful work CCP Alice and Team Roundhouse Kick!
Also:
Danny Centauri wrote:Looks really nice, like the responsive design. Still couple of small issues: - When I wasn't logged in couldn't find the comments button. - Just went back after logging in and the posts were all in a completely random order and the date tags wrong on them, the community websites one was third down instead of at the top.
Love the fact I can read the blogs on my iphone without wanting to kill a kitten.
Please don't kill the kittens, they didn't do it. Presenter: EVE TV, Game Master, tea enthusiast. |

Hey guys,
I just wanted to let you know we are paying close attention to this thread and many of the issues being identified have fixes being worked on. Much of this revolves around URL rewrites so that legacy links will continue to function as much as is possible, this would cover, for example, the dev blog links issue and also the api key predefined masks issue.
The predefined api key functionality has been reproduced in the new site, for example:
[OLD FORMAT]: https://support.eveonline.com/api/key/createpredefined/8388672
can be achieved by using:
[NEW FORMAT]: https://community.eveonline.com/support/api-key/CreatePredefined?accessMask=8388672
I'd like to reiterate that we are committed to our 3rd party developers and we are working to implement a rewrite rule to make the transition as easy as possible. In other words, so the old format can be used too.
As CCP Alice said in the dev blog, this has been a major upgrade from a complex legacy site to a newly deployed site using new technology.
We understand that there will be some frustrations in this immediate period as we work to fix emerging issues but please bear with us.
It is our intention to support legacy content as fully as we are able.
Please do continue to draw our attention to any problems in this thread.
Thanks again for your patience, DZ

Cyerus wrote:Looks good, except for one major disappointment from the 3rd party developers community. The links to CreatePredefined keys are NOT working anymore, meaning that for many applications people have to create the keys manually now. I'd expect more support for the 3rd party developers community, as they seem to be the last people you care about. Please fix it! Example (old situation link); https://support.eveonline.com/api/key/createpredefined/8388672
These old links should all be working again! Thanks for pointing this out. |

Quick note for feed consumers. Our old feeds used the RSS 1.0 specification.
The new feeds use the Atom specification.
All leading feed readers will seamlessly consume Atom format feeds but if anyone is having parsing problems with custom readers, etc, this could be the reason.
Thanks, DZ

Alice Katsuko wrote:Since this is a web issue .... Clicking 'endorse' on the CSM page ( https://community.eveonline.com/community/csm/candidates/ ) doesn't do anything. Not sure if it's a bug, or a silly oversight, but would be nice to know that clicking on the button actually does something. Seems like the javascript link is broken.
Hey thanks for pointing this out to us. We've found the issue and have pushed out a fix for it, let us know if you're still having any trouble with it. |

Quick update on API keys:
1) Predefined keys - we have tested and deployed a fix for this issue. You should now find that submitting the predefined mask, once the required fields are filled in, will generate the key and take you to the key listing page.
Note for those having a problem with rewrites of the 'legacy links' or old format links for predefined customized keys: we've noted some browsers need a cache refresh or even the old format link removed from the browser history for these to work. This is especially the case where a user tried the old format link between the community site upgrade and the fix to the rewrites themselves. If you're having problems using the old format links, please try refreshing the cache or removing these links from the browser history.
2) Legacy API Keys (ie, old, non-customized API keys that can no longer be created) - we have also tested and deployed a fix to the code that should originally have displayed these, with a delete option, if your character had them. The Legacy Keys will appear on the API key listing page below the list of customizable keys.
Thanks for your patience regarding these issues, we'll continue to monitor this thread and are addressing other reported issues.
Cheers, DZ
