I'm sure there are many things in EVE that need to be rebalanced. CCP has found several of those things, and have worked towards balancing them out. But one thing they missed was: Covert Ops Cloaks.
The question I have to ask CCP is; Did you intend for someone to sit in a Stealth Bomber for 20+ hours, making that system 100% useless because of a red/neutral sitting in it? Was that your goal was you released them?
There are many fixes I think could be implemented;
1. Auto-Log out after 30 minutes of not warping around, decloaking, enter a pos, docking up, etc.
2. Make Covert Ops cloaks scan-able. After x hours of sitting there, the person can be scanned out.
3. After 30 minutes of cloak being activated, or turned on, it decloaks you for 2 minutes, while it "recharges".
These are only some of the ideas. I'm tired of having people exploit a class of ships, and ruining the game play for others.
You say Titans & supers are overpowered, I say Covert Ops Cloaks are over powered. You say Machariels & Cynabals are over powered, I say Covert Ops Cloaks are broken even more.
Nuff said with the post. Stop releasing new ****, and start fixing the old ****. Great Game, ****** Developers. That simplifies eve in 4 words. |

Stuff that doesn't need fixed ... that should be the subject of this thread.
My stealth bomber has a sleeper cab, so that it can remain in system indefinitely.
As for cloakies being scannable ... perhaps a special class of ship will be invented to allow for cloak scanning. Either way, not every ship should be able to do it, simply a specialized ship class, if at all.

People are bitching about how over powered supers and titans are. Supers I can understand, titans? It's a ******* DOOMSDAY weapon. It's absurd to only allow it to hit capitals.
Covert Ops cloaks need to have a down side to them. You can warp, & fly with max speed while cloaked. Needs to have a stability timer or something to equalize it out. Otherwise it's just as overpowered as supers & titans. |

how the feck is it overpowered u cant do anything to people when ur cloaked
yeah u can fly around but so what
u have to decloak to cause trouble
and if they are afk u have nothing to worry about just grow some balls

That's a drawback? My entire problem with them is the fact that you can sit in a system for hours and not even be at your computer. That's what my SOLE problem is, and it revolves around the cloak itself. You can sit in any system with a cloak, doesn't have to be a cov ops, and sit there for hours. You say that they can't hurt anything, have you see a White Noise bomber fleet drop bombs on an enemy fleet? Bombers are powerful but flimsy. By you saying they can't hurt anything, you sir, are a ******* moron. |
