I've been grinding my agent for the past few days trying to get a good enough reputation with some combat based lv 2 agents, but I don't seem to be getting very far.
Am I just being impatient and need to continue on with it for a few more days, or it there a better way? ---------- Questioning your very existence 1 skill at a time. |

If you keep grinding you'll get there eventually. Low quality level 2 agents will be much easier to get access to then higher quality ones; the first level 2 agent I used was -15 quality and had a 1.25 standing prerequisite.
You can also boost your standing with agents with the appropriate social skills. There are several skills which grant effective bonuses of 0.4 standing per level in the skill to certain kinds of agents.

Just a small correction to the above, the Connections skill(s) give a 4% boost, not a flat 0.4 to standing.
This is calculated as: new standing = standing + (10-standing)*0.04*conn_lvl

Make shure to do the storyline missions. They give you a huge standing boost.

I believe the story line boost for new players was removed months ago.

Nope. Storyline bonus is still there. When you finish the tutorial, the last mission of the tutorial says, "I'm reccomending you for a 1.0 standing bonus" or some such, and the Storyline missions afterwards also end with a faction reward I believe. Not to mention the future storyline missions that crop up that have in fancy letters at the bottom "This is an important mission, blablabla, extra standing". Those are the random letters from storyline agents like, "I need you to do an imporant mission." ~~~<*>~~~<*>~~~<*>~~~<*>~~~<*>~~~<*>~~~<*>~~~<*>~~~ Doctor Alexis Ayala GHINC - Gallente Horizons Incorporated |

Edited by: Tarn Starr on 03/09/2005 07:11:12 Try having a look for level 2 agents on the map.
Go to the map, and then into Display Settings. One of the options (under the My Associates banner) is my Agents. Select this, and now when you hover over each system with your mouse it will show you agents that are willing to talk to you.

connections 3 and the standing boost from the starting agents should get you into level 2 without having to do any level 1.
