This game is on the down and down, it annoys me to say.
The lag from enabling sound and trying to listen to the stupid eve sound track in conjunction with 0.3 piracy within range of the jump gate leads me to believe CCP have rounded the corner from "flagging game devlopers" to "we've made money now, so screw it!"
Turn some of the crap off so the game runs smoother please! |

sounds like someone has bothced soundcard drivers or some other similar problem with their computer. Dont blaim eve for the state of your system. And no that "all other games works fine" isnt an argument that will fly as all games utilize code and routines differently.

You do know you can turn off the music, right? And the sound? And that there are other things in the game called "players", that you can work with to get rid of gate campers.

it annoys me to hear from my corpmates (even if they are in same system as me) complain about lag and it is EVE's fault and all that.
Second .. when that last large battle and people complain about lag, hey if you gather 350 ships together in same system you got to expect lag...
I play with 2 accounts on my computer, I got 1 mbit line (wireless) and I hardly EVER encounter lag and I mean very very rare.. how is that ? I don't know must have a super duper computer I suppose (it is only a 1.5 ghz 1 GB ram computer.. oh and 256 MB graphiccard X800 pro card).

You have sound turned on? Eve has sound? Music?
Damn two years of playing, and I forgot Eve had music to it and sound in general....
Free-form Professions, ensure no limetations on professions. Be a trader, fighter, industialist, researcher, hunter [i]pirate[/i] or mixture of them all.

I always play with sound and effects on, no noticeable lag at all.
Only turn it off when i'm trying to run two aco****s, which for some strange reason (or better, some silly sound issue I cant seem to narrow down) makes my pc struggle all of a sudden where it used to be fine running up to three clients.
Other then that, only fleet battles or real busy nodes give me lag issues, but thats a node issue, not a pc issue.

Same here - my game used to run great, but I've gotten lag spikes like you wouldn't believe in the last week or two.

EVE ONLINE will probably win the "Most Laggy MMORPG Of The Year Award" if there is one, yep. i would vote for that...

I have CTD when I have sound enabled. I have to diable it in the config for eve.
I use the on board sound card and can play every other intensive mmorpg / fps game with sound and I have no problem.
I do beleive there are some peeps with poor set ups that do not help but I also beleive that eve has some inherent problems that have never really been quashed.
intermittent CTD (a classic)
sound disrupting play
and of course lag
but it is a good game
It's a Dog eat Dog World out there and I'm wearing Milky Bone underwear
