Hey guys,
was wondering if you could advise me on 0.0 mining ship. I have about 70mil isk and would ultimately love a Dominix for deep space mining but this is going to cost at least 100mil isk after ive insured and fitted it out. I am looking for a ship to use in the meantime while i make the extra cash needed. I can fly all cruisers, battle cruisers and the med barge and was think - is Brutix the best ship for mining in 0.0 without getting nailed by rats??
Any help would be greatly appreciated

It's really no secret.. here's what you do.
First of all you find a good mining spot. Start searching for a place near a refinery. Find a belt with the roids you need. And make sure there's a cruiser/frigate spawn in the belt. Incase you dont know.. you dont kill the whole cruiser/frigate spawn, you keep atleast one alive.
and that's about it. oh n watch the local channel all the time, incase some bad guys jump in.

I mine in 0.0 in a ferox with 5 lasers.. Give it as much shield and shield recharge as it will hold. Needs about 3 cpu I's for the lasers but it has a solid passive shield tank that will hold off 2 angel's cruisers with no problem. Just balance it to get the highest shield recharge while still being able to keep the miners going.. try to fit one large regolith shield extender, 1x medium shield extender, 1x shield recharger II and hardeners. In the low slots you will need a few cpu's and atleast one shield power relays. Takes a lil time to get the equipment that you can fit set up but it works great. with a passive tank mining ferox you never have to hit a shield booster or armor repairer. I would like to get a brutix for mining though and try it with a armor tank and cap rechargers.

Mining/tanking apoc ftw. Much better ore yield. Have a ninja hauler at SS waiting to hit the ore can. SS to mining/can spots and a couple off SS and instas to refinery system. Mining solo in 0.0 is often risky if its not a protected alliance space.

Alltough BS prices are dropping, i don't think an apoc will ever fit in his 70mil budget

Id probibly say go ahead and get the Dom, then mine in >0.5 empire or do some lvl 4 missions for insurence cash.. I think thats the quickest way to get in an insured BS.
