I recently decided to try to install it, since my other firewall and antivirus software started to behave weirdly.
So I installed it. And now I got serious issues with it. All programs except some can't access internet anymore. World of Warcraft doesn't work, EVE-Online doesn't work, Ftp software doesn't work, Mirc doesn't work. All games that need internet access don't work .All the stuff I need and want to work doesn't work anymore after I installed Norton. I uninstalled Norton. I reinstalled Norton Doesn't work then either. I uninstalled Norton and installed the old antivirus/firewall, still don't work. I formated and reinstalled windows, they don't work then either.
Does anyone have a idea what happened there? My computer is basicly not useable to anything else than browsing the net with Firefox and listening to music after I installed Norton.
I tried to Norton support, no help there. Has anyone had similar problems?

Just a guess. It sounds like the firewall for Norton is buttoned up pretty tight and is only allowing traffic through port 80 (Internet). Therefore, check in the Norton settings and see if you can ease this a bit.
The second place to check would be to see if (assuming Norton Firewall is either disabled or configured properly) Windows Firewall is enabled through the security settings (assuming SP2). I think (not sure of the validity of this) if you go to Start, Programs, Accessories, Security you can configure it there, and if this doesn't work go to the connection through Network Properties and you can configure it there.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance here, but I am flying a bit blind from work. I know that after I downloaded SP2 the first thing I had to do was turn off all the enabled security.

i get this problem with nortons usually keeps asking are u sure u want eve.exe, etc etc to run, until i say "always permit" then it remembers it.
Also i have a problem that sometimes it tries to stop AOL from working, prob thinks its a virus and i wouldnt put that past AOL

The windows firewall is not running, and Norton is set to low. All my programs are set to be allowed to access the internet. But something keeps them blocked.

The nortons firewall like i said sometimes ****es off my AOL connection, like just now it wouldnt let me connect coz the firewall was stopping it

Find the anti-norton virus. that should take care of your problem.

I heavily dislike Norton, had a few problems with it.
Use PC-cillin, from trend-micro, it is good, fast, reliable.

I now reformated for the third time.This time not installing SP2, because I have had some problems with it earlier. I reinstalled windows and a different antivirus/firewall program. But EVE, World of Warcraft and Mirc and several other programs are still blocked. Even if they are on the safelist and Windows firewall is off. I can't understand how it happens? I formated, a format should remove all settings. I don't think it's a hardware problem either since some programs can access the internet.

Sorry for double posting.
I tried to run Eve and my other games on the family computer. And I got the same problems there :( So it's starts to get narrowed down now. It's not my computer that has the error. It must be in my DSL modem/router thingy, I can't think of anything else than that. You think Norton could have changed some settings there?
