been gone for a few months now just came back and have almost lost 3 ships because i cant defend myself i have 23 million skill points and pretty damn good gear torpedo's that used to hit for 500 odd damage now hit for 47 all 4 types
my 450 rail guns that used to take cruisers apart at 45k now miss 99% of the time tachs do the same thing cant hit crap tried 250 scout railguns same thing the fastest tracking weapons i can find same thing i either miss them completely or hit for 1/20 the damage they used to all while npc rats are blasting me to bits with full damage strikes and missiles that ignore hardeners im down to running around in a heavily armored dominix using 15 drones to kill things
any suggestions as to what or doing wrong here or what has been hit with the nerfbat and how to hit things again

Missiles have been "rebalanced"
Basically, CCP have turned missiles into turrets (admittedly a broad generalisation). Big missiles now find it hard to hit "smaller" fast moving targets.
There are a load of new missile skills on the market, I'd suggest buying and training them as they mitigate this effect somewhat (as well as adding damage, speed, etc bonuses).

I suggest to go to the "Ships and Modules" Forum, I'm sure they would be able to tell you a good setup for any ship lately.

The best idea is to learn the new missile skills up to at least level 3. At that point you begin to do damage close to what missiles were like before the change.
As to turrets, a lot more focus must now be paid to the transversal velocity of your target. I suggest either driving forwards to the npcs or letting them chase you. In both cases they'll abandon much of their transversal to chase you on a direct line or run away in a direct line.
As you've found out, drones are still an effective way of protecting your ship.
Also, you can try to jam or web the ships you're fighting. Put some heavy blasters and a webber or two on your dominix, tank it out, and you'll be kicking ass with your drones. ________________________________________________

Missiles are better than before, unless you try to do something stupid.

Don't know what could be wrong with your turrets unless you've been gone WELL over a year. But with your SPs I doubt that's the case. Maybe just a run of bad luck?
