tempting..... very tempting, but as I don't have cybernetics 5 trained up yet, and won't for a little while, I'm really more interested in getting it myself, than buying it now and letting it sit in my hanger till then.

Its a VERY tuff item to come by, I consider myself very lucky.

The cyber V is whats keeping me from plugging in now. Im a miner/trader and Ive been scoffed at for even the 250m price (when others are selling it on escrow for 450-500m) I don't think its outrageous, given those comparisons

If I don't sell it by the time ive trained to V, its getting plugged up..

The key thing to remember with this implant is that the more you pay for it, the longer it takes to pay for itself. Now, if you're going for this, it's fair to assume you're a serious miner, so I'm going to assume you're mining with a large barge with modulated strip miners and the appropriate T2 mining crystals, and all skills maxed. Which gives you yields of:

Without implant: 1132m3/min
With implant: 1188.6m3/min

So the implant is giving you 56.6m3/min of ore as payback.

The exact time to payback the 400mill investment depends on the ore you're mining.

If you decide to stick to empire cause you've suddenly got a hugely valuable head, then the best you can do is Omber at approx 150isk/m3. That means the implant is generating:

150*56.6 = 8490isk/min

400mill/8490 = 785 hours payback time.

That's nearly 33 days of miner-active time. Now, if we assume you have a life outside eve, so only play a max of 6 hours a day, that means it'll be 4 months before you make back in ore what you spent on the implant. And that's just miner-active time, you've still got hauling time etc on top of that.

Now, lets go for the best possible case, of arkonor at approx 700isk/m3. You're then generating:

700*56.6 = 39620 isk/min

400mill/39620 = 168 hours payback time.

That's 7 days of miner time. On 6 hour days, that means payback in a month, plus hauling times. Of course to do that, you have to be confident that you can survive mining in deep 0.0 for a month without being podded once.

In my opinion, current prices make this implant a status symbol rather than a viable business investment. Prices would have to drop to around 150mill before I'd consider it a viable business purchase.

Beware those beyond here, for they cannot see evil.

the above is a key bit of advice - its a status symbol and not a ISK generator unless more players use this agent and more are dropped then prices fall and it becomes more value adding
