How much yield do you get with a large barge with modulated strip miner 2's and all the relevent mining skills maxed?
Also can anyone give me the the max yield for an apoc and a ospery?

Covetor
TOTAL = 3(number of lasers) x 360(MSM2 base amount) x 1.25(25% for Mining 5) x 1.25(25% for Astrogeology 5) x 1.15(15% for Mining Barge 5) x 1.75(75% ore bonus for Tech II crystal) = 3396.09 per 3 minute cycle
Apoc
TOTAL = 8(number of lasers) x 120(MDCM lasers' base yield) x 1.25(25% for Mining 5) x 1.25(25% for Astrogeology 5) x 1.75(75% ore bonus for Tech II crystal) = 2625 per 3 minute cycle
Osprey
TOTAL = 3(number of lasers) x 120(MDCM lasers' base yield) x 1.25(25% for Mining 5) x 2(20% bonus per level of Caldari cruiser. In this case, level 5) x 1.75(75% ore bonus for Tech II crystal) = 1968.75 per 3 minute cycle
This obviously does not account for drones. You could always annoy a LOT of players by training for a Moros and go mining with 35 mining drones!

or you could buy a dominix and get 1125 per minute cycle x 3 = 3375 per 3 min cycle for
and do what i do partner up then jet can mine

the benefit or using a domi for mining is that you can outfit and go do a few missions if you so wish with the same ship ...

I fly the covetor with 3 modded strip 2s (1131 m3 per miner with tech 2 crystals per 3 minutes per miner) and 9 harvy drones (37.5 m3 per drone per minute) the ore amount is crazy. so thats 3x 1131 = 3393 per 3 minutes. + 9x 37.5 x 3 = 1012.5 m3 per 3 minutes = total of 4405.5 M3 every 3 minutes. crazy

Another question along these lines, i need a few extra levels of skills to get SM2s once i get upto using em (trying to get cov, then RE etc etc)
is there any POINT using SM2s with Crystal 1s or should i just wait till i can use t2 crystals??

You'd be better off training Refinery Efficiency before training for a Covetor: firstly, you'll need it to use the mining crystals anyway, and secondly, reducing waste is going to be a higher priority than simply increasing mining yield. There's no point in being able to pull loads of ore in if you're only going to lose a large percentage in the refining process.
As to your other question, Tech I crystals are not a bad investment while you're training to use the Tech II ones, just a bit pointless once said training has been completed.

What is the rule on the Mining Barge skill?
I thought it use to say where the bonuses kicked in, but now I can't seem to find it.
I was assuming it is graded like this
Thus giving a total of +15% at level 5. Is this correct?
Second quick question: Tech I crystals give an extra 62.5% correct?

Tech1 crystals give a 8% bonus
Tech2 Crystals give a 16% bonus
Mining drones only give decent ammounts when you're within 5km of the roids, Use your lasers to mine at their farthest range and drones close and work your way in.

The total of 15% bonus at level 5 is right but it is 3% per level not 5% every other level
