If a system is max 15 AU in size and everything is on the same plane then he's somewhere in an area of 1.6 * 10^19 square kilometers. Have fun getting to within 2 km of him. If the system is larger or stuff isn't all on the same plane then you have even less chance of finding him if he's safed up and cloaked. I have successfully found a cloaked ship!!
I literally bumped into a cloaked Rapier while in a cloaked Prowler. Yeah, it ended in a lossmail, but I literally bumped into him and then we both decloaked.
I couldn't do it again if I tried. C'mon CCP, let us suicide gank the high-sec pub matches in Dust..... |

If they ignore him and bring out their mining and mission ships he can light a covert cyno and drop a bomber gang on them.

Then bring out a nice shiny bait ship. Fishies got to eat sometime.

Load up your favorite pirate/faction battleship with the most expensive modules you'll find. Then start bouncing around the asteroid belts. The modules in your ship combined actually create a force wave through space that will decloak whoever is cloaking in your system if given enough time. Of course this depends on your skills.
Good luck. |

Log on as soon as possible after down time and launch combat probes, then when he logs in you will have a few seconds to pinpoint his general area.
Then just fly around in that area. We all thought CSM 6 was a war crime with it's massive Null Presence CSM7 topped it by selling out our Council to CCP, don't let it happen again. Vote or next time Incarna is your fault. Stupid Signature Broke

Cloaking is balanced by Local in k-space. Local is balanced by Cloaking.
In WH space, other game mechanics balance cloaking. This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.

There is, they show up on local. We're talking about ECM grade balance here, the other sort of CCP balance. |

That's not really balanced because it provides immunity for one party as well as intel gathering ability, where as for the non cloaked party it only provides limited intel through local yet no counter or immunity.
Though it does provide some amusement, I won't deny that.
E: Now if cloaking messed up the ships sensors, to where D-scan doesn't work and neither does local while cloak is active, then yes it would be balanced. Don't Vote for Malcanis

Posting in a stealth 'nerf afk cloaking' thread
OP - the whole idea of being cloaked is just that, you're invisible, there wouldn't be much point in training cloaking up and fitting a device if you could be found would there?

I'd rather have balance across the board, so players then could fly ships and use weapons of their choice. Not FoTM fits because a patch made XYZ more powerful. Folks would enjoy a game better if that ship they really like to fly in isn't worthless for 2 years; or it's weapons system wasn't nerfed to the ground.
Came back to EvE and was eager to level up into a Drake (one of the better looking Caldari ships -- and yes looks are a factor in choice). Now look at it. Wonder if it's a flying coffin now. "In a world of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." ~George Orwell

When I was in Delve with my main as a part of BoB, we were able to flush out a cloak ship because we knew what direction he warped to. We formed a line with drones out and slowly swept the area the warp would have ended at a planet, 30 minutes later we de-cloaked him and popped his ship. We had a good laugh over how unlucky he was, EVE may seem 3D, but it is really a 2D table top. |
