Is there much of a market for buying and selling corpses? Would somebody pay a particular amount to have someone who is a fairly famous or notorious player? Would somebody here pay good ISK to have a certain troublesome pirate corpse in there inventory?

I collect corpses. I would never buy or sell - that would wreck the integrity of my collection.

Yes, there are people who buy corpses for their meatlockers. And yes, they generally (but not always) pay more for female corpses, as well. Big-name corpses are more valuable, usually, as well, but it depends on the buyer.
Check out the Market Discussions section of the forums, and do a few forum searches for keywords such as buying, selling and corpses. |

I used to collect corpses a few years ago. I may start again, but I don't discriminate on price. All corpses are equal.
Apparently booking your flight & accomodation to Iceland BEFORE you buy the tickets for the convention which is pretty much the only reason you wanted to go there in the first place is popular. |

I am saving up all the corpses I find for the Mordu's supercarrier that is coming out next year. It uses corpses as jump fuel.

The first time we killed Shrike's Avatar we sold the corpse for 500m.
Sadly a Shrike's Frozen Corpse isn't nearly so rare these days.

I sold CCP Greyscale's corpse for 2 billion isk a few years ago. ALWAYS show up to live events when you can is the takeaway. You bet there's a bunch of pods that collect corpses. Several people have done quite well as dead body brokers too... it's crazy lucrative! There's a great market for it. Certain famous EvE players can command a good price for their corpses too... A good demo would be if some of you pods w/ dead body collections posted your inventory. I met a guy last year who had a big chunk of CCP's staff hanging out as frozen corpses in a station can

I'd buy rare corpses for a good price. I could care less about flavor of the month 0.0 characters, but CCP devs, or other well known players that have been in the game for a long time... sure! |

I would buy corpses if we could dress them up and have teaparties with them in our CQ.
I would have a physical relationship with them, but I would like to get to know them a bit first. That and the hot tea would help to rehydrate and warm them up so it doesnt feel like frozen beef jerky.
Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

As to the original question, I know several players who collect corpses. One guy in particular has hundreds of them, I've seen the screenshots LOL. Anyway, I used to be in a corp with Mr. Corpse Collector. One time, I mentioned in corp chat that I was taking the pod express to avoid a long trip and he and another corp mate made a mad dash to my location and waited for my pod to asplode. They actually ended up shooting each other and fighting over it.
Of course there was goading in corp chat about the horrible things he was going to do with my frozen corpse, but aside from that, I don't understand the point in collecting them.

Depends on the corpse. You're probably not going to get much if anything for the corpse of some regular guy but if you manage to pod kill say, The Mitanni or someone else that's very well known then you could sell it for a lot of money.

I found a fellow's corpse when I first started (which was only about a month ago) and picked it up not knowing if it was worth anything. Later I tried to send him an evemail to get it to him if he wanted it as a trophy.. but he never responded. How many of you have your own corpse on ice somewhere? |
