Dear pirates of Eve,
After a few weeks of intensive forum study and some ingame experience - I'm almost done saving up for my first succubus - I have decided to play serious and put some other PvP games aside for Eve. Now that the initial confusion has mostly gone away, I am planning my first steps into PvP, and it seems that most of the cool kids hang out in pirate corps. The ones vocal on the forums, anyway. 
I have educated myself on most matters (thanks to upsideup and ParMizaN for the posted guides), but there are still some questions left, and it might be most helpful to me to discuss them ingame. Are there any grizzled, scarred veterans willing to take me on as an apprentice? As a service in return, I promise to be a good girl and not ransom you if we chance-meet in space. 
I noticed some people are fairly quick to offer corp invitations. However I would like to note that I currently feel quite comfortable in my NPC corp and would like to take a couple months of time until I have more of a clue what I'm doing.
I am usually online on GMT evenings and about half the time on weekends.

Siren lovely to see your request on here sweety. Not meaning to rain on your parade but
I too am interested in the PvP/pirating side of things.
Im currently flying a prophecy but i kinda obtained it a little too quickly so it's a good ship but limited in terms of skill points and what i can do with it. Ive already lost a few ships (mallers and a prophecy) so I want to start cutting down on suiciding lol.
Siren if you want maybe us girlies can meet up on eve and practice and discuss tactics etc? :)

Quality response, madam. Quality.  You'll hold your own on a pirate corp's TS! I highly recommend both Reactor Industries and the Sniggles. Both have experienced pilots and good fellas.

how to Pirate. Get into a frigate or crusier tech2 is always better. Go to some low sec space and fly around the area for a few days and look for people mining. Blow up there indies and small ships take items from there cans. Later on when you have more SP you can get into a BS and take on other BS and tank sentries. Only want to learn is to get out and do it.
Remember the 15min combat timer. Friends also help with pirating. Try to take on soft targets to start with there i not point taking on a 2 year old char that has been in a pvp corp since the start. If you are new he/she will most likely mop the floor with you (like when i took down a geddon in my malediction). Just because you can fly it does not mean you know how to fit and use it.

That's the boring way.
More fun is to get a few people in friggies and wardec some empirehugging carebearcorp.
It's not unlikely you'll get many killmails besides your own, but you'll get way more experience and fun then scouting dozens of low sec systems to blow up those very few 0.4 miners and farmers, camping gates waiting for the occasional idiot or brave incompetent piratehunters, or simply doing one way trips to 0.0 blobs.
Besides, once you have a really bad sec, there is no way back to empire, which sucks until CCP finally does something to fix low sec pirating.

Siren, I'd say go with Snigg. They are at least polite pirates. YNC warred with SNIGG for a month or two before they moved out of the area. We had no smack talkers, no significant cheatyness (gang invites, corp changes and the like) the war was generally fun and kept us on our toes.
Of course you could always try chasing the pirates, learn the way of the light instead of the dark side, the pay may not be as good, but at least then you can get into empire space should you choose to.........

Uh.. I doubt I can afford those anytime soon. I'll probably be stuck with my Merlin for awhile longer, and I am NOT taking the Succubus into PvP. At least not before I can find another dork selling one for 1M on Escrow.

As far as I have seen so far, most people who mine in 0.4 - 0.2 (I have yet to look at lower sec systems) seem to bring a friend or two. I'll see if Lady Lorna is interested in a partnership in crime, or if (s)he just wants to use me as a targeting practice dummy.

Ive ventured into 0.4 - 0.2 sec space and it's not ooo bad. Kepp an eye on local nad be alert. It's certianly interesting and the atmosphere is tense. I gate warped right into a full scale battle, there's me in my little battelcruiser minding my own buisness lol
Ill go with you sweety and who knows we might pick off a few nooblets with enough balls to take us on lol.

Most of the basics of pirating has been said, so I won't bother repeating them. However, you have to be prepared to lose ships and quite possibly your pod as well. As long as you don't take dying too seriously, you've got it made as a pirate.

I have and use both TS and ventrilo. As I said, I'm coming from other PvP games. I'm not sure I understand what point you wanted to make.

I suggest u check out which corps are recruiting atm and send questions ingame. If noone will take u on u can always join an alliance to gain valuable PvP experience since all alliances have PvP wings.
Anyways - gl and hope u get to a good corp.

Hi all first post from this eve noob. Interestingly I got raged by one of s******dly last night and i wanted to pay ransom but he couldn't turn his guns off in time :)
Although a bit gutted from getting owned we had a nice chat in local about how he thought it was 'just his luck' when he couldn't believe i wanted to pay a ransom lol.
Gg wp. Am enjoying Eve...and prob more so when i can be an evil pirate too :D

verone does seem particularily adored, and i do wonder how many of his fan boys have actually had dealings with him.
But at the end of the day he may well be a self confessed forum ***** but, he is catorgically safe as houses. he is a one of gods rare entitys that you cant help but like, but then again all the northern monkeys are like that

Yup well im sure verone is a great guy in his own right and I laugh when i read that sig with the baby,but some go just a little too far
same thing happens with all the major players that get a bit of fame lol look at tank ceo etc all new players where pretty much automatically told from the beginning that he was totally invulnerable

To respond to the questions asked about the attention I recieve, I'd simply say the following.
I make my presence known on the forums because I like to express my opinions and help people out where I can. So far I've helped out everyone who's contacted me as much as I can.
Having said that, I don't claim to be the best PvPer or the best pirate in the game, because frankly, I know I'm not. I play fair, and I play by a set of rules.
As for the people who've commented positively about me and my actions in game, thank you . Most of the pilots I see in this thread I have had dealings of somesort with, moreso members of IRON and DIE who I have had a lot of contact with, and have flown with or against.
I don't have a problem with people having a positive opinion of me, if anything it helps with business. Over the last two weeks I've barely made a single kill on our corp's killboards because everyone I've managed to catch has paid the ransom and survived .
Anyone who needs help with anything in-game can Eve-Mail me, and I'll do my best to be of some use. Just because I kill people, it doesn't mean I'm not a nice guy.
Also, if any prospective pirates out there are wanting to have a talk to members of SNIGG, or mingle with a pirate crowd, you're very welcome to join our corp's ingame public channel "Teh Sniggles" and socialise, or ask questions. There are members of a few very effective pirate corps who hang around in there, and may be able to help
