WE CAN TAKE THIS is a small gang focused pvp vid mostly from the POV of a scimitar, my favourite ship.
It is my first video, and it started out being a solo/duo pvp video featuring over a year of crap, but after the formation of my new corp I had way to much fun and put all that stuff aside and made a gang video instead.
Ships used; Scimitar (four fights) Drake (one fight)
I am the only logistics on field in 3/4 fights.
I hope you will like it.

Notes;
In the frigate fights, there is also a daredevil in our gang that I forgot to mention.
The editing is really basic, I'll try to be better in the future

That was a lot of fun to watch, very intense being logi pilot for fast low buffer ships. Can I ask you what your render settings are in Vegas? Or contact me in game cause I wish my stuff looked as good as yours. |

I too was sceptical about the entertainment value of a Scimi video initially, but this was great! Small gang ownin' blobs is always a winner. Especially liked the scimi + frigates stuff, Drake fight was decent too.

I fly a scimi almost exclusively in gangs and these fights that you're showing are definitely the awesome ones.
The last Scimi vid I remember seeing was the Scimitari ones so its good to see another get put out there. |

Also, the camera work seems hectic, but i suppose thats because you mwd a lot.

I can understand that camera jerking can be annoying at times. It is partly because that the footage is speeded up 2x. However, it is not something I aspire to change either, being able to see what I need to see has a higher priority in my book!

Yeah being able to see where everything is being the lone scimi or 1 of 2 scimi's is crucial to staying alive. It gave a very realistic view of how a good logi pilots screen would look like ;)

The arty hurricanes engaging the BS's and other enemy gangs outside of engagement range are truely one of the most intelligent and tactful tactics I have seen in a long time..... however, those kinds of fights make for very boring fights to watch, but for the most part, awesome fights and good vid! |

I am glad you (mostly!) liked it!
I can understand that the G-5 fight vs FA was unexiting from your point of view, I added it merly because it was a fun slaughter and I hoped it would have some entertainment value, and it seemed that at least some people liked it.
However, in the FC- fight, the battleships we fight actually outrange us, and us having no recons, skirmish links or tackle, while having less logistics, are in quite a tough spot, and I think we did quite well considering the odds, so I do not understand why you thought that was a boring watch.

That was intentional! I was forcing myself to practise using hotkeys instad of clicking since hotkeys tend to not bug as much and also have less responsetime. Also I've never cared much for any type of specific UI layout as long as I can see what is going on in the fight, which I can.

Awesome scimi work! Got one question though, why haven't you got more people locked? It cuts down on response time, no waiting for locking. You can like lock 6-8 people and then keep 2-4 target locks open for those broadcasting. Just wondering.

You are correct, in theory. However, in reality I very rarely rely on my locked targets for damage updates, instead I watch the field, which generally tends to cut down the time from realizing someone is taking damage to the time that the reps arrive. If you watch the vid closely, (especially the frigate fights), my teammates rarely even broadcast, because I'm already on top of them.
I realized long ago that relying on CCP's utterly useless UI (sorrypleasedon'tbanme) is a dead end, you'll lose so many more than you do when you look at the actual space. That also gives you information you need to avoid getting tackled and finding safe locations in space to hang out when you rep your spacebuddies.
TL:DR wasting time looking at locked targets results in a neglect of keeping top on what is happening in the fight, and slows down the entire process of someone taking damage -> you realizing -> you locking -> you repping.

Inspiring. Excellent Logi work too, keeping m8s alive to really take the fight to the enemy. If everyone was as good as that fights would never end! :D Seriously hoping i get to fly in a group like that sometime, taking on hugely larger fleets and sending them running is something every PVPer dreams of... well i do at least :P

One question.... Is your ship set to orbit anyone in particular or are you manually piloting all the time?

I never orbit any other player, orbiting another player means that if he fucks up you both die.
My piloting is generally split between a simple alignment to a celestial called by the FC (after we've suicidejumped into some blob) and manual piloting in the general direction of said celestial. Generally the gang will form a line or a V, and you will want to be around 60km from the person in your fleet that is closest to the hostiles. If the gang forms a V you will want to put yourself in a position where your fleetmates can take out tackle and other threats. Key is finding a decent mix of those two, and you'll need to do it on the fly on a case to case basis. Range also adds the sidebonus of avoiding damps and ecm in many cases.
Always keep the people in the front locked as they are likely to be primaries.
