GÇ£I did,GÇ¥ said Ford. GÇ£It is.GÇ¥
GÇ£So,GÇ¥ said Arthur, hoping he wasnGÇÖt sounding ridiculously obtuse, GÇ£why donGÇÖt the people get rid of the lizards?GÇ¥
GÇ£It honestly doesnGÇÖt occur to them,GÇ¥ said Ford. GÇ£TheyGÇÖve all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government theyGÇÖve voted in more or less approximates to the government they want.GÇ¥
GÇ£You mean they actually vote for the lizards?GÇ¥
GÇ£Oh yes,GÇ¥ said Ford with a shrug, GÇ£of course.GÇ¥
GÇ£But,GÇ¥ said Arthur, going for the big one again, GÇ£why?GÇ¥
GÇ£Because if they didnGÇÖt vote for a lizard,GÇ¥ said Ford, GÇ£the wrong lizard might get in.GÇ¥
Except people have now gotten so bad in this world, that now they believe that if they don't vote at all, that they are not responsible for the wrong lizard getting in.
This has got to be one of the worst ideas ever thought up by the human race.
If you do not vote, you are just as much to blame as those that voted for the wrong lizard. Any argument against that is purely just people trying to dodge the responsibility of actually making a decision.
So far I have not seen anyone who I recognize to be from Null sec, failing to make a decision, only 1 person from Wormholes but where to the majority seem to come from? Hi-sec. Which then begs the question, are Hi-sec people risk adverse, or incapable of making decisions. They complain when Hi-sec is nerfed at all, but they are to lazy to spend a few minutes every year voting.
The fact that people would put forward the argument that, they have refused to help guide the destiny of this game, so therefore they have the right to complain about the result, is just insane. They have chosen to opt out of this process by not voting, and frankly I see no reason to let them opt in when, those who will represent those who vote is chosen.

CCP Veritas pointed out the error in my thinking, what I want is not actually fair representation of ALL EVE players, but of THOSE WHO VOTE (it follows from there that the more people that vote, the better representation we get). The current voting system is sufficient, but there are many vastly better systems out there.
So even CCP Xhagen believes that failure to vote, means no voice. So Vote or STFU for the next 12 months.
We really need a forum tag, that says "I Voted", just so we know who to tell to bugger of with their whining. If you voted and lost so be it, at least you stood up and said "Count me in as part of the Community", rather than hid in a hole at election time only to stick your head out afterwards and complain that it is too bright.
