Seems to me this game would actually be somewhat challenging if Area of effect warp jammers were implemented (such as jamming all warp capabilites within 3km or so). Warp invul, in my opinion, should be fixed to where your only considered *warping* when your traveling past 10km a second. Warping away from battle and the hunter not being able to do anything about it is a very lame aspect of this game making it a "who can mine the most" type game, leaving little room for creativity and outwitting your opponent(which i thought was the general idea of this game).
Another idea to consider is the idea of sensor cloaking....making you undetectable to sensors yet you can still be seen on the view screen once your close enough. Imagine seeing a tasy indus ship with no escorts around mining away in 0.3-0.0 space, totally oblivious to you, while you fly behind him, away from his point of view, and jam/scramble/fire once you are 50 m/m. This would make the miners actually pay attention to their surrounding and not relying on little blips on their sensors to tell them when they need to press the magic warp button.... "what? i cant just look for little squares on my radar to tell me when i need to push a button so i wont have to battle an actual human opponent? Oh, guess i will have to actually try, and fly with escorts and stay awake instead of mining on my own safly in 0.0 systems."
To me, the entire purpose of online mmog's is to battle against other human players from around the world, doing stuff you cant do in real life , where creativity, reflex and wit are the deciding factors of battle. Sadly, this game is turning more and more carebear, leaving little room for combat unless its arranged by both sides, and more of a buisness simulator type game.
Sure, mining and market trading is a great feature in the game, but dont make it the ONLY feature that will get you anywhere in this game. Whats the point of PvP when anyone can easily escape with a push of a button at any given moment?
To many times have i introduced this game to other people and do you know what the usual response is?
"This is incredibly boring....why would i want to play a game where i have to shoot at rocks to make a reasonable profit, and cant attack other players without them warping , leaving me unable to track them , and warp to 9 different places to find them only so they can warp again? Pretty graphics, lame pvp engine."
