What are some of the Fastest ways to talk to another person in a ship nearby?
lets say I want to tell some pirates, stop don't shoot I'll pay a ransom!

In Overview right click on name -> pilot -> start conversation
But I doubt you will start a conversation in time before they take you out if you are in something weak.

Yes, but they may not care to answer but oh well, it kinda reminds me a being "Hailed" or like "Captain we are being hailed, shall we put them on screen?"
And that's all good.
Yeah that's cool, I'll try and use the start convo, too bad most people seem afraid to answer convo requests, maybe. Or it just may be my luck lately.

Local is the fastest way to contact someone in the same system, assuming that the person you're trying to contact isn't afk or a nub.

i guess i fall into the latter category, i loathe talking to people who only rub in the fact that they make more money in an hour than i have since i started and/or want to kill me

Nope but I just have some time and enjoy talking and learning about things in a game I love to play.
And since you guys are so cool, it seems nice to converse with you all too :)
Also this is the best game yet that works so well in a window that I can play the game and talk in the forum at the same time. It even works well in full screen and pressing the windows Key on the Keyboard.
Good job CCP, really.

Sure and I won't even mind if I get pirated, I'll make sure to bring an expendable ship. :)
Pirates make this game feel alive. If I say IĈm upset to a pirate in the game it will only be Role Play, because there is know way I can be upset, even if I lost my best ship, because like I said they make the game feel alive and your hart go faster.
One other thing I would like to know is if I got to worry about Pirates any ware else besides for gates, and that would be cool if I did have to be careful even away from gates.
I'm sure I would but not sure.

if you pay the ransom, surely the pirate can still blow you up? I saw a really harsh video of some dude killing some other dude who was begging to be let go, and was emptying his wallet into the pirate's pot. They were also on teamspeak, the poor guy was forced to SING on teamspeak to pay for his life - the b@st@rd still killed him!!

The problem with that is, with myself at least, I have the blink on local turned off. Whenever I see local blinking I have an inexplicable urge to read it, even though 9 times out of 10 it's just someone saying something like 'zomg wts rcu 1mil ololol'.
I know a few other people who do this too. So some people might never read your plees for ransoming. At least a private convo grabs their attention...
