I have a number of BPOs that I need to sell, the BPOs have been researched to varying degrees but I am not sure how much that research adds to the value of the BPO.
Apart from trawling contracts in the hope that there are the same BPOs at similar research levels, is there a general guide to how much a BPO is worth with X amount of research (i.e. 5% per increment for exampleGǪ so a BPO with an ME of 5 would command 25% more than price you can purchase direct on market) or is there some other way to work out optimal pricing. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die. |

A highly researched blue print does not mean it has an increasced value. To work out a BPO's value work out the profit margin from manufactiring for a sensible time and add this to the price of an un researched BPO.
Hint, if your cost of manufacture is more than market sale of item then the BPO may be worth less than the actual NPC sale price.
I have bought several max researched battle cruiser and cruiser BPCs at NPC market price. The reason being even at max skills, I can not produce these ships at a profit due to saturation in market of said items when minerals were cheaper.
It will take many months maybe years till I can produce these ships at profit. The BPO's are just investments and help me produce ships in low instead of moving ships around. |

Thanks 0Lona that does make sense, I'll investigate tonight when I get home from work.
I may even just end out outing them at the same price as market place ones just to get rid of them, depends how much investigative work is needed :P I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Those blueprints cost you ISK to research, either directly through research slot fees or indirectly from POS fuel costs, keep that in mind. I would also check contract to see how other people are pricing similarly researched blueprints. Desperate people looking for researched BPOs are not only paying for the research, but the convenience too.
However if you're looking to liquidate them quickly then many people, myself included, will happily buy them at NPC price. .

Hi Elizabeth, Thanks for the reply, once I get in from work I will be taking a look to see what sort of prices they can command (if indeed there are any on contracts) and ill take it from there. If I think it maybe better just to liquidate them ill certainly let you know.
The BPOs themselves are not particularly valuable in the first place, mainly rig BPOs with a few other lower value ones sprinkled in. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. General BPO value, with say .5% waste or worse ME value can be valued from 25K to 200K per hour spent researching the BPO
BPO's with .1 waste to zero waste tend to fetch a premium, again depending on the item the BPO will make, more profitable and popular item types tend to fetch higher prices.
Best advice it to see what others are selling for, ignoring dumping priced items, unless you where looking to dump the items ASAP, then that's what you would look at. |

I tend to just look at what other people price it at, and at how much they have researched those BPO's. I then price mine depending upon what I have found.
Simple, but it seems to work out for me. - Rei |
