One of the major contributing factors of western logic revitalization is the invention of the lens. With the lens , telescopes allowed men to see afar ,microscope to study pathology ,chemical ppt and many other field of science won't even be here without the lens.
There is also the philosophical difference between the 2 cultures , Japan is a culture about personal growth and development. The most obvious indicators is by looking at its modern media. Western cartoons and films often emphasize the gun or the car , objects that EMPOWER one with freedom . Whereas for Asians its often about a journey of hardship and adversity which in the end enabled him to use the tool much more effectively .
Japan and Asia in general didn't look towards the external factors for solutions ,they first look at themselves for clues . While this has the possibilty of enriching their inner life , it also inhibited their technological growth

I can conceive of no .gif response to Boku no Piko.
PMMM is done by a horror director from the 90's/00's who told the world he was trying something more innocent. It starts off as a fairly generic maho shoujo series till the 3rd episode where it mercilessly back to his form. He loved the reaction as people realized they were watching a deconstruction.
