well atm there is almost no point in living in 0.0 , in fact it makes a lot more sense to live in empire, for most parts its easier to buy things in empire, and no t2 in 0.0 hurts too
so we need an incentive to get into 0.0
my suggestion: make skills train faster in 0.0 your atributes should slowly increase from what they currently are to about +50% so say you should get a exponentionally decreasing increse (lol hope taht makes sense) so in 1 week u might be +10%, then to get to +20% might require 3 weeks, then to +30% 9 weeks, +40% 15weeks, +50% 30 weeks
and if you return back to >0.1 they go back down towards 0%, decreasing exponentionally the longer u stay in empire , and maybe back to normal +0% in 30days
do this and within 2 weeks 90% of eve will be in 0.0
would also be very helpfull on training those uber rank skills,

Edited by: TuRtLe HeAd on 12/09/2005 15:08:54 People don't go into 0.0 Because they don't control the Space. 0.0 is fully occupied by alliances/gangs/collaberations of people.
If you can show me where theres some uncontested 0.0 Please tell me, and I'll go there.
You idea is a very good incentive, but its certainly not practical. It would get players into 0.0 by the thousands. And would mean Alot of death for a lot of people.
funny idea though ! Nice one !

one thing that would make people think of going into 0.0 space more often, is if noone showed up on local, weather they talk or not.
plus i think some alliances would not be able to cover the space they have at the moment if noone showed up on chat, so 0.0 space would be alot more open maybe?

It would make sense how? Gronsak indead.
What CCP need to be doing is to remove the remote control from the hands of a filthy few.

ppl will join corps that are in allaicnes so they can get into the 0.0 systems, it would work
would make all the alliances bigger and stronger
and everyone would move into 0.0
and becasue ppl can freely kill each otehr in 0.0, it will cause ppl to spred out rather than bunch together like in safespace

TBH this hole, I cant get to 0.0 bisness is bs, iv spent my days in this game from when i had less then a mil sp in 0.0 the fact is, 0.0 has the ritch's only a agent ***** winning the BP lottary can match :D
people need to risk there assets more and come to 0.0 for a look instead of saying only the people aready out there can claim it.

Nothing is ever gonna get loads of people into 0.0 simply because many people just dont wanna play that style game, don't play enough to be able to afford to risk their ships, or just don't want to risk it. Some ppl are just pussies and dont wanna get killed, simple as that.
And aside from that, think about it, 0.0 works because there are few people there - 0.0 would be crap if there were loads of people there. No more finding a nice quiet system for a bit of NPCing or mining, it'd be like empire - people jumping in every few minutes - only they'd be able to open up on you. _______________________________________________ Top 10 things I hate in these forums. *snip* -Oi mod |

That idea isnt going to do anything but make the alliances in 0.0 to close thier grip even tighter.
If you want to have an exodus, you need to shrink the area of control the current alliances have. Many many of these guys can easily use 1/10th of the systems they occupy.
The trick is remove the sense of immaturity that is displayed by them. Look at it like this.
Eve demographics is mainly of the 25 yrs and up group. It caters to the older gamers. However if you look at the frontier. Who is out there? The little kids who have deluded dreams of empires.
If you want more people in 0.0. You need to make it open. this can be anything from making it nearly impossible for a large alliance to control anything larger than a constellation.
To allowing an affordable way for the new alliances and wealthy corps to build thier own jump gates.
To redistribution of wealth.
Or even,
Making the frontiers dependant on trade on a large scale thus making territorial claims more open.
Who knows.
But one thing is for sure.
Giving buffs to people for going outside of the protected space is going to do nothing but make the game unbalanced. -------------------------- Vist the Jericho Fraction Forums

first off, meh goes and fights in 0.0 very often,
usually taking BS ect so its not about risk
i am not sugesting a way to make ppl take risks, rather to get ppl to live in 0.0 long term
atm i dont lvie in 0.0 as there is no real incentive - and the biggest problem is that there is incentive in empire - cheap ships, easy to get hold of, more stuff to do, ect ect
also, spreading ppl out is a goal of CCPs afaik as it reduces server loads
and if this idea was implemented ppl would rush to 0.0, but since its dangrous, u wount see a X-yulai or jita situation of ppl grouping into systems, rather ull see everyone spread out as much as possible

I always thought it was the other way around.
The dumb carebears posting whine threads about ore thieves stay in empire (the 12-14 year olds) and we intelligent, mature people can build our empires away from them, and work together to defend our space. -- Proud member of the [23].

You are kidding right ?
Last time I checked, Evol has one minor in its ranks, of 350+ chars. There is no corporation that has taken scheming and dealing in power further then Evolution. For the kids ?
Hardly.
For those that don't think a game neccesarily needs to reflect your real life ethics, right on.
Now, I do agree with your analisys. 0.0 alliances need to be given more impulse to rely on others. Currently, Eve could empty but for BoB and we'd still turn our merry rounds around 0.0 without needing to resort to any silly antics. We can keep ourselves running entirely so to say.
That simply needs to end. Make us need trading corps out here because we can't enter certain areas of high sec space anymore. Make us need to focus our efforts on smaller areas of space because that's where the profit lies..
You knwo what would work, but demographics play no role in it at all imo. There's more callous players in 0.0 yes, less inhibited ones, true, but thats got little to do with age. _______________________________________________

I liked that 'no local' suggestion. Mostly because in a sense the local channel is nothing but radio chatter type of thing. Perhaps in 0.0 space radio frequencies and radio antenna type of things aren't worth the while to keep afloat (due to constant pirate raids) and thus the local chatter is non-existant?

Or they would cancel their accounts and leave the game. Not everyone wants to be in an alliance, get that into your head.
