Edited by: Bryan Durl on 12/09/2005 15:05:24 This may sound really stupid, but i don't get many missions.. i always have to go looking far and wide for them. i want to start doing lvl2's and 3's but im still stuck on lvl1's with crappy quality. First off how do i go about starting to get missions? I did the tutorial missions to begin with then i became a miner by trade and thats pretty much all i have ever done. So mostly my gunnery skills are not amazing. So i was wondering if i could have some tutoring on missions and where to go and what to do? Thanks

Edited by: Severe McCald on 12/09/2005 15:38:34 Choose an NPC corp you want to work for. Do search (in People and Places) for that corp. You will get a window with corp info. including "settled", which tells you where all of that corps agents are.
Check your standings against the corp (if you finished the tutorial, you should be able to access all level 2 agents of your own race, afaik) then go and work for highest level and quality agent of that corp.
If you want combat missions, work for the navy or police corps and the "security" or "command" agents of those corps.
If you prefer courier, work for a commercial corp and admin agents of those corps. There is always a mix, those are the extremes.
Any other questions, feel free to post them here .

One minor correction: It should be all lvl 1 agents and some lvl 2. Not all lvl 2. If you want combat missions, work for the navy or police corps and the "security" or "command" agents of those corps.

ok, heres the jib, i have been doing these things which you say, but what i want to know now, is how do i move quickly up the the higher levels. because lets be honest, lvl1 missions arn't all that formidable?
I have to travel a good 11 jumps to get a good quality lvl1 agent, but what i really want is a way to move up to lvl2 and lvl3 quicker. What skills are good for this? are there any techniques that are not listed but sort of "un-written" ways for getting ahead in agent missions that little bit faster?

It is intentional that getting up the ladder for a new agent is a pain in the *beep* (that makes it easier to hunt you down :). I'm able with my skills and gear to get a lvl3 agent in a bit more then a week. The key is to move fast (ceptor) and kill/grab only what is needed to complete the mission.
But ... if your skills are where i guess they are you will not have much fun with lvl3 agent missions anyway. -- $ perl -n -e 'print "Stop blameing pirates! Oveur is the root of all evil!\n" if m/podkill|lost my ship|gank|gate camp|Verone/;'

Social skills are what you want. Specifically, the Social skill itself (faster standings increase) and the Connections skill (one-off bonus to all positive standings)
