Due to the proposed changes to the Megathron it will be losing a Low Slot and gaining a Mid. In essence it will become a worthless armor battleships with only 6 low slots. Today we remember the good times, and the bad times. The funny tales and the long hours of pushing F1 with the mighty Megathron. This will be the beginning of a New Era where only the Abaddon will be flown and the poor Megathron gets pushed aside.
RIP Megathron, You were a good ship until Kil2 got a hold of you. |

I like all the new changes the new Armageddon looks fantastic being able to reach out and nuet enemy t1 logi from the line is going to change how we use the battlespace.
Oh and new mega stats looks awesome. |

CCP is changing things for the sake of change, because they simply seem incapable of coming up with anything new for an actual expansion.
One year ago, the Battleships were reviewed, and most of them were fine, yet now, they seem intent on retasking formerly decent Battleships to Niche roles that most people have no use for.
Change for the sake of change, rarely works out the way you think it will CCP. Perhaps you should hire some new people to work on an actual expansion, rather than simply screwing with existing stuff?

Been reading the balance suggestions in F&I. I can't help thinking it would be easier just to concentrate on one race now, save the skill point splits between weapons etc. The variety seems to be going....will keep reading. |

It sounds good to me. Megathrons used to be the most common T1 battleship I came up against that could put out problematic DPS numbers even at relatively low skill levels. With the reduced drone bay, missing lowslot and ROF bonus in place of damage the thing is going to have to pick between keeping the same DPS and losing a chunk of EHP or keeping the same tank and losing a chunk of DPS while being under greater cap pressure. Or they can shield fit it and die instantly the second something shoots them.

There is a reason why they are proposed changes, and there is a reason why they were posted in the Ideas and features section. They want your feedback on them. Just because they are proposed doesn't mean it's gonna end up that way. Look at the launcher, they wanted to use bit torrent for it, but they changed their mind after they got feedback. So yeah, don't get your panties in a bunch and jump to conclusions just yet.
