After three long years of fun, frolic and frusteration Hadean Drive Yards has closed its doors.
The Founder and first Chief Executive Officer would like to thank all those who played a part in the evolution of HDY from its inception to its final farewell (this would be it for the slower folks out there).
The reasons are many and somewhat pointed depending on the point of view involved so why take up space with he said, she said....
Anyways, I digress, rather than sling mud at those who took every blueprint HDY had in addition to millions in ISK, I will wish them well and those who choose to follow them well. EVE is a game for enjoyment after all.
And.... for all your business needs there is a place to go. Check out Phoenix Labs (Shop@PPL in game) for your shipping and shopping needs. I'm sure there press release will be forthcoming.

Actually folks, it wasn't corp theft... no one technically "stole" anything from the Corporation. Several Executive Members planned and executed a departure from the Corporation at the same time after having unlocked and "moved" the HDY blueprints.
They have since started a new Corporation called Phoenix Labs and I personally wish them the best of luck. They have a great nest egg with which to start their business.

Sorry to hear this happen to HDY..whenever i need a ship i always turned towards HDY...never thought something like this would happen to a core CORP that kept 0.0 stocked with stuff. The market in H74 was like Agil.
All the best for the future Overkill and the corp. Hope you recover and possibly rebuild the corp.

I'd like to know a bit more about this issue, for example, he background to the dispute/share issue/bpo taking etc. HDY is an old and respected name and I'd hate to see it just slip into nothingness without knowing the story of how it came to this.

Sometimes you get the elevator, sometimes you get the shaft...
and a few million other form responses LOL
I may not have much dignity left however I do have my honour and to me that counts for something, there is no need for me to tell my side of any story here except that I will be moving on and looking for a new home in the very near future.

Well man, you were about the first to stand with us against Taggart back in the Venal civil war and that stuff never gets forgotten (you gave JF the first ever cruiser that I got to fly in Eve) If you ever need a home and fancy fighting a revolution - I'd love to fly with you. Well, I always felt that if a corp disbands, it's not the majority member that get to keep the assets, but the corp. If the CEO stays and the corp is still there, anything the corp aquires, even if given by a member, is the corps property.
It works this way in the real world too. If you come up with an invention while working for a company, that company retains all rights and patents to it, not the inventor.
I consider this corp theft and would try to stay clear of the new corp 
It's just that we went through this sort of thing and when we left we decided to give up all the corp assets to the few remaining even though we worked hard to aquire it, but it was the right thing to do.
Just my 2 cent, not trying to flame.

Shocking! Although FIX and my old corp Kr0m have been in polar positions several times, a member of HDY regularly visited the shop i work in sunny Camberly (i shall not mention his in-game name in case he gets summarily executed for knowing an ebil pi3rate), and was nothing short of 100% excited about the way you guys were going ALL the time. Corp theft suxx

100% correct, in Carbide we had some indicents where others wanted their "share" of the pie and caused a revolt against us because they felt it was rightfully their property, so we can somewhat relate.

I would have to agree with Kozak here. If the assets are the corp's property, they should stay with the corp. If a majority decides they want to start their own thing, then it is more than likely not ethical to take the assets with them. But really it doesn't seem too many folks care about ethics anymore.
As long as the corp and CEO are still there and active, then the assets still belong to that corp. If Overkill was the founder of the corp and as CEO had the majoriy (or all) of the shares, then it would be expected that the corp assets would reasonably be his. The ingame mechanics work this way too. Whenever a member of a corp is deleted, the assets go to the CEO's hangar in the station.
There would be reasonable discussion for transferring assets if the CEO was not the only founding partner. In that case an equal distribution of the assets between the founding partners would be acceptable. But that would only be if the corp shuts down. As long as the corp is staying together, then the assets should remain entirely with the corp. To comment on the PPL press release, corp IS defined by the name, not by the people when it comes to assets. As long as work is done for the corp then it should stay with the corp.
From what I gather, it seems that the executives of HDY saw it differently than that and decided to change the terms to something that would benefit them more. Sorry, but from the limited understanding from both press releases, I would have to say they gave Overkill the shaft as he so poetically put it.
