Your post is entirely wrong.
There is no current practice of podding your own teammate to collect the bounty. I know a lot of pirates and I don't know of one single case of anybody ever doing that. Pirates with bounties are proud of them and do not wish to lose them. And even Lord Zap's bounty would only bring him as much money as a few hours of 100% risk-free 95% AFK robotics trading.
Player pirating is by far the highest risk profession in this game, beyond any doubt or reasonable dispute. And except in a few cases of extreme good luck (like the guy who found somebody stupid enough to be carrying 42k megacyte in an unescorted indy--probably the first time in the history of Eve that anybody has been that stupid) pirating is also far lower profit than mining, trading, or NPC-hunting. The pirates I know are pirates right now not for the money, but for the fun.
Pirates cannot escape any danger by jumping out of gates. For one thing, we don't all spend all our time gate camping. For another, if we're that close to the gate we don't get much of a start to slow people who warp in and toll them--if we're just on the edge of jump range, for example, we can only webify them within 10 km of jump range, and often they could get away. So sometimes we have to be out of jump range to catch people effectively. And many times we're at roid fields or even chasing people to planets or something. But the biggest dangers to pirates aren't the attacks on our victims, it's the people who constantly come to try to save them, avenge them, or just plain want to kill us.
Yesterday, in order to extort 2 mil from a thorax in a roid field, my indy partner and I had to attack 2 cruisers (one of which got away), and as I was finishing up payment negotiations two more heavy cruisers warped in to attack us, and we alertly warped out. Then I was chased out of that system by a total of 4 battleships and at least 3 cruisers, and my indy partner lost his ship. We barely got the money, made 1 mil isk each. You call that easy? Easier than a few jumps through sentry-protected empire space carrying robotics? Easier than mining a single refine of bistot to make that much money? I think not!
If you want the reality of pirating, here's another post for you:
