Hey all,
Since my skill training is currently up and running, and i'm still debating between Mining or PvE, i'm trying to think of ways I can help my fellow corp mates, or ways in general I can help using more creative means than just doing level 1 missions.
So far i've thought of things like contents, or tournaments, but gone blank at anything else - Any ideas or suggestions? |

Missions -- wreck cleanup, or anti-frigate support (in a dessie, for example). Mining -- help haul during ops Market -- be on the lookout for cheap stuff that people use Industry -- building ammo and whatnot PVP -- learn it. Be the hero tackle, or ewar, or logi, or something else that sounds fun. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia Malcanis for CSM8 |

What Velicitia states. In addition, organize said ops. Recruit another member. Lets be friends?

help your corp with it's goals. That might be as basic as learning how to do something cool and teaching everyone else, or making spreadsheets, or setting up a corp killboard, or just being active on their forums. Or run public ops to generate public interest in your corp as a recruitment tool. Help set up a corp weekly routine for ops/contests/recruitment/tourneys. I got involved with corp leadership when I was new simply because I wanted us to stop getting our asses kicked under wardec. Proactive players tend to float to the top in corp leadership. This.
As you are in a corp...ask how you can help, what you can join as a new player or what ever.
We aren't your corp, so we don't know what you can do for the corp. When a WoW player leaves to return to WoW, the avg. IQ of both games rises. Professional Forum Thread locker. |

It's good to see you wanting to take the initiative and help out. However I would seriously question the quality of your corp if they recruited you, or especially if they just accepted an app you submitted, and then didn't try to provide at least some minimum level of guidance. |

It kind of depends what you're interested in and what kind of corp you're in, but there are lots of cheep little things that can help other members out in a variety of ways.
Explorers who mark grav sites for the day while looking for radar/magnometric are often appreciated by miners.
Putting some time into refinery skills can reduce the amount of hauling everyone needs to do to sell ore/minerals, and less hauling = always better.
If it's a corp with new players that might be doing the SoE epic arc, parking a catalyst near Arnon so you can shuttle over to help with more challenging missions can be nice.
Taking any kind of initiative in getting to know other members of the corp, be it getting together for joint activities or even just socializing and making people feel welcome, improves the quality of the atmosphere for the entire group. |

It really does depend on what your corp does in Eve. |

In addition to the "ask your corp" bit -- don't have a "higher than thou" attitude about things. That is, if for example they totally abhor PvP and want nothing to do with it, talk them through it and explain why they're wrong.
Had a newer guy in a corp with my alt get ganked and then put something like 40m on the ganker's head. All the while explaining to me how PVP was just a waste of ISK and the bounty wasn't, because someone would eventually get the money for killing the ganker.
After a quick correction on bounty mechanics, I went and EFT-warriored him a "decent" frigate fit that would work with his skills and cost an estimated 1.5-2m per. I'm not 100% certain he's come around, but for the rest of that conversation he at least seemed to start believing that PVP isn't as huge of a drain on resources as he's been led to believe.
