wonder who tricky it would be to ahve a 4th type of slot that would allow you to put on mods that add differnt obejcts onto your ship model, like
A Radar dish
Spikes Fins or Blades
A Visual Drone Bay
Additonal thrusters or extra wings
That add nothing to the ship stats , are complete a visual thing. To allow people to customise thier ship, the alrge the ship the more 4th type mod slots ou can put stuff in
Have std tech1 stuff and rare faction dropped mods that can make your ship look more piratish.
create a whole new market for peolpe to custiomse thier ship without doing anything to game balence

Whats more half the coding is alreay in
if you look at tech2 ships they have fixed bling slots
you can see when you warp they disspear at a differnt rate to the rest of the ship, so they are just a tacked on model.
e.g. missle pods on a crow

What a waste of the programmers time!
The only thing cool about this idea is the name "Bling".
Firstly, I don't want more lag on the servers, why waste bandwidth on this. At least if this is done allow us who want frames and server connection to be able to switch this off.
Secondly, I've tried Guild Wars and half the community there wants to be black, so everybody goes around paying obscene amounts for the color "black". I see some variation of that happening to EVE. So why spend time doing this if half of the people here are going to look the same anyway.
Thirdly, I want other activities in EVE. I don't want to waste my money on the programmers spending their time making a Tempest look green for gods sake! It's about time CCP spend some time finding long term activities for us old timers in EVE who have done just about everything, instead of pushing us out of the way to make cuddle programming for the noob. Enough already, get on with the show.
And on another note, if EVE is going to be candyfloss- and teddybear-lookalikes or even "pigs in space" because of this, I'll quit. At least keep it pure and keep the style of the game. If it comes to a place where people cannot identify the ships killing them, then the game is going to have a problem and I foresee a lot of petitions. Remember that a lot of the models are based on their color as the only distinguishing feature.
