Yeah, I don't see how an Adult can still be playing video games, I mean, what a joke, grow up, do something serious! Videogames are for kids.
No?
I'm talking about playing a game where you fight things like this... ??????? WoW is a goofy cartoon game for kid minds, OK????!!!
But I did not say being a kid or having a kid mind was bad, it is just that IÆm not a kid. And WoW is for kids, thatÆs all IÆm saying.
And I can not understand an Adult playing a Cartoon Game, no big deal what I'm saying.
I never said anything about Video Games or anything else in General, I was just talking about WoW being for kids and EVE more for adults.

Quote: Wow, you are a true fanboy. But then again, you said EVE had the best UI ever. /laugh.
Quote: best UI I've ever seen in a game, period.
Note difference between 'best I've ever seen' and 'is the best ever'. My crappy Duron 1.6 is the best processor I've ever had, it doesn't mean I think it's the best processor ever.
Quote: So you're saying EVE is so great BECAUSE it's tedious?? There's something really wrong with that. Just because you're not creative enough to come up with ways to have "REAL benefits and depth to combat" combined with FUN, doesn't mean a way doesnt exist. You can't honestly tell me you enjoy flying around for hours (sometimes) looking for a fight, then get blown up, then spend a couple more hours buying and fitting out your new ship, then more hours looking for your next fight?
No, I just SAID I don't find ISK-whoring fun. That's what makes PvP fun - the adrenline rush of not wanting to die. And I've never once ever had to travel for more than 30 mins TOPS to look for a fight, but I guess that's a total lack of care about what you shoot for you.
Quote: Fun for you is: hours of tedium for a couple minutes of fun??
It's only a couple of minutes of fun if you die. Personally, I have done exactly zip ISK-whorage in the last 2 months, because I don't fight fights I'll lose and/or fly ships I can't afford to lose. It's more like 2 months of tedium for 2 months of fun. Those first 2 months may suck ass, but the following 2 months are the best 2 months of PvP a game can offer. Best I've ever found, anyway, and I've looked fairly hard.
Quote: Yea, WOW is brainless. I mean, god forbid a game exists where you log in, have fun, and log out. I, and most other gamers, play games for stress relief and fun, not to immerse ourselves in a fantasy world that demands work to make it go round.
WoW is brainless because there is absolutely no way to lose. It's brainless because there are no long term repercussions for your actions. There is no cause and effect, just constant effect. You lack the ability to affect the world around you in ANY WAY. This is why I find WoW brainless.
It exists for the casual player, and good for them. You literally couldn't pay me to play it, but that's opinion for you. I dislike it for certain reasons, you like it for those very same reasons. It's a difference of opinion. You like casual, instant gratification, fun orientated games, I like immersive, dynamic, persistant games.
I suggest we go to our prospective games and stop ****ing each other off.
Oh wait, I'm already at mine! Well, I guess that means you should be leaving for WoW now then, since you clearly enjoy it more?
Go on.
Bye bye. _________

"What's a bunny hopping plate armor warrior?"
Visual equivalent of dreadnaught bouncing off a loot container. The "wtf" kind of nuisance that manages to break the immersion even when you're quite okay with everything else the game shows you...

And to the one Caldari poster: from your post am I to assume you still fly ravens? What do you fly for missions? PVP? From everything that I can see even a cruiser can now pwn a raven. I won't even undock in one of my ravens after seeing the changes.
I am not surprised to see the rest of the respondents are neither Caldari or Minmatar since they are the ones who have benefited (massively) from the changes.
I for example have my base in Alentene so I will be even richer than ever, but I am trying to speak for all those who got hosed.
I'm a maxed out amarr pilot. I npc in a raven with less overall skills with no problem. Eve is a better place wit these changes.
Eve is also a much better place since WOW opened up.

and don't know why it is necessary for all this CCP protection i didn't like the missile changes for one reason - it makes absolutely no sense i realise this is a game but from what i can tell CCP is after that real feeling - ya know - immersion there is no reason for me to get into the game today and find out i can't do what i could do yesterday - balance or no balance

Yay for sweeping statements. How exactly can you tell? It's not like we lost players when WoW opened, so you cannot argue that "the bad ones have left to play WoW."
If EVE's a much better place, that has to do with features introduced, advertising, in-game events; NOTHING to do with WoW.
As for the communities, both are full of *******s.

Eve is a very complex game. And in a general sense no one is 100% happy with every little aspect of it. The gate camping bored forum warriors have nothing else to do but flame anyone who doesn't agree with their viewpoint.
Hey, these people might be the best people you'll meet in real life, but in the forums they come across as egotistical, uncompromising and laughable. Even if they have a valid argument. But mostly its just opinions and we all know what those are like.
How about a forum post limit. to get rid of the anti-whine any post whiners for a while. Imo I think some of them are actually CCP personnel or in collusion with them at least.
As regards the longer travel times and regionalization- CCP has long wanted to reduce lag especially in high traffic systems, so CCP does discourage travel but Regionalization is the excuse to limit travel not the reason to do so imo.
Some players/devs take the "GAME" way too seriously- sit back and enjoy it.

He was suggesting we shouldn't try to balance the game because it breaks immersion. THAT'S getting carried away.

I was making 15mil an hour doing lvl4s solo in a Mega fitted with t1 gear (till I got it blown up in PvP). Don't see why 20mil in a faction fitted Raven (which is what hardcore mission who-- er, runners have) is impossible.

Darko dosent love you anymore. On a related note... 20m an hour isant infeasable doing lvl 4 missions in a raven either, it just takes a lot of planning and skill.

"There is a European WoW forum?"
Select language -> English (EU) in dropdown on main WoW page, it'll switch to the page for european WoW... then click forum on the sidebar and it'll take you there, by the looks of it.
At a glance i don't see much difference as far as whining levels go, though o.O;
edit: having browsed the US forum, i take that last comment back. at least as first page of general section goes ^^;;

6 jumps from my home station to both pator and rens. This also means I have less competition with my own production. It's called "regional markets".
Quote: This change is hurting all the players because now we must waste even more time than before flying around before doing something meaningful. No wonder WOW has a million subscribers.
Yeah, so many people want to do nothing but blow **** up, 24/7, a game with no depth.
Quote: Then I saw what they did to missiles. I can't believe that. A friend told me a lot of Caldari trained pilots quit EVE and it doesn't surprise me. Luckily I have a lot of Gallente and gun training. If I were Caldari I would not even consider coming back now considering that they just made all the missile stuff worthless. All those Caldari pilots are now probably trying to decide whether to be a Paladin or a Shaman.
Oh noes!!! They had to actually train a few skills. My god. Everything's ruined now. Skills!!! No longer will my "character" icon greet me warm light every time I log on. I'm going to have to actually do some of this "training" I've heard about.
I'm getting a raven just make people like you shut up. Besides, I've seen what my friend's can do, and I've liked what I've seen.
No offense.

/yawn.
Why are we even having a WoW v Eve discussion ? Two wholly different ends of a spectrum ffs. The utterly AI/code ruled world versus the utterly player ruled world. The "consequenceless guiding hand" versus "the tedious achievement".
I mean, it's obvious, if you hate the specific things about Eve that place it miles apart from WoW, then play WoW.
We don't mind.
As to missiles, c'mon, did the fact sink in yet that you within one day of returning came up here to whine about changes you cannot even have tried ingame yet ?
