I'd like to see 2 or 3 cruisers having a close talk with my Domi, I can tell you cruiser are not a win button against BS all the time.

even the U.S. stoped making battleships. I don't know if they even USE them at all now. i just don't think they can keep up with the smaller more productive ships of the new navy. I know this is eve and not RL but it's a new way to look at it

No ship has been so savagely and persistently nerfed as the BS - I'm not saying this is a bad thing but to say "it is simple" to setup a BS to kill a HAC/cruiser/frigate is terribly silly because it is just as easy for those ships to be setup to kill YOUR BS.

1vs1, cruiser are deadly, because BS cant kill them fast enough or even hit them at pointblank.
2vs2 already different. Place 2 BS 30km away each other. Now pls attack one. with 2 cruiser. This 2 cruisers will get their but handed on a silver tablet, if the 2 BS will know their profession.
HACs are different here. dont forget, you need few times the money and skills to fly one. So i think its okay for them to be a threat to BS.
But each 3 BS kills, will be same resourcess lost, when 1 HAC will die.
So in a 3vs3 situation, the HAC¦s can only loose moneywise.
BS are needed for large sieges. You cant siege with cruisers. The more BS your enemy is bringing, the more BS you will have to bring. Larger battles like 10+ vs 10+, cant be won by single cruisers. Probably they wouldnt even get a kill.
HAC will do some dmg, but even there half of the HAC¦s is not more, will be lost during this fight. Which will mean 500 mil lost for HAC crew and min 300 mil lost if all BS will get killed.
Again my point is. Fast raidings smaller ships 4tw. but only because you can evade the enemy fleet and still get ganks. You cant engae a samesized enemy BS fleet (fleet = +10 ships), if you dont have enough EW support or some BS atleast.
My opinion. Mixed fleets 4tw. The best fleet is a mixed one of AF, HAC, EW and GANKships.
And if the HAC meets autopests or blasterthrons thy are doomed. Same goes for dominix, which eats HAC for dinner
and thy last HAC I met died in 2 volleys. First got his poor shields at 40km, second wrecked through his armor and made his structure goes poo --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It IS extremely simple to setup an anti-hac/cruiser and frig bs :/
A properly fitted bs set up for anti-hac/cruiser/frig will rarely fail against these classes (if you do its likely ur setup sucks? ;o).
As always there are of course exceptions but sayin its just as easy to setup a hac to take out a bs as it is for a bs to take out a hac is nonsense.

Therefore we agree it is silly to say anything is "simple and easy" because there's always a counter setup which is just as "siomple and easy" - thank you for help proving my somewhat poorly put-across point.

No i agree with Deja's statement :)
It is very simple and alot easier to fit a bs to take down a hac then the other way around as the bs simply has more tools available, Better nos', smartbombs, more slots. All these things are makin it able to outclass (as it should?) a hac any day.

I agree with a lot of you, some well thought out replies. I also think that
a BS should be able to obliterate a cruiser, it's this way irl and certainly a role that BS's in any fleet have had the ability to do
it is not easy to kit a BS to be survivable and kill quickly in all situtations. Anyone that says so doesn't fly BS's. Kit's are pretty application specific and the trick of being a good pilot is to not get your self in situations your not kitted out for. its not a simple thing
AF's being able to do level 4 missions is insanity and a may be an indicator to me things have gone too far. I mean it is a freakin' frigate for gods sake.
On the cruiser sig radius, maybe give the cruisers a speed boost, maybe some tanking bonuses or some additional EW capability. But i think that gimping the ability of larger ships to damage cruisers is a bad thing and i fly a Moa.
the trend towards mixed fleets is nothing but good

Any ship can take out any ship, imo, but, yes, a BS does have the advantage due to powergrid/slot advantages. That makes it "simpler" per se but does not guarentee success.
