I understand the mechanics behind owning one and setting tax rates and other settings however these are the questions I need answered and they all revolve around anchoring one. (all low sec)
1. When I have a planet to anchor one and build it does it show up relativity close to were I put up the gantry or does it throw itself into a pre determined spot?
2. Let say an npc POCO is still up at a planet, do I have to destroy it, risk automated standing loss with that corp too set it up (or get no standing loss) or can I set up a POCO anyway and the npc one dissapears?
3. average time for anchoring a POCO
4. How long can you set it up to reinforce itself in an attack and is their a cost tied to that.
Thanks too any and all who reply.
Also some funny stories involving POCO would be fun if you have the patience to type it out. always up for a good story

The POCO will be at the location of the gantry. There is much to be said in favour of modern journalism. By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, it keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community.-á-á-á-á - Oscar Wilde |

1. it goes where the gantry gets put.
2. blow it up, limited/no standings loss to Interbus (which doesn't matter, IIRC they don't have agents anyway).
3. I forget TBH. It's a few minutes to anchor the gantry, then however long it takes you to put the stuff in (MIGHT be next DT).
4. it will come out of RF at a player-selected pre-determined time (e.g. 00.00 ET)

1- As stated above it does go where the gantry is anchored. However this means little as the POCO shows up on the overview and anyone in system can warp to zero on it. You can not hide it. Taking the time to travel to the far side of the planet off grid from the normal planet warp in really doesn't offer much benefit. It will keep traveling pirates from finding you just by warping between planets, however if they are looking for PI characters to catch and kill, they will likely be warping to POCO's anyway.
2- If there is an interbus customs office or another players POCO anchored at that planet it must be destroyed before you can anchor yours. losing standings with interbus is meaningless as there is no negative impact to low standings with them. I do not even believe it is possible to lose access to interbus customs offices due to low standings.
3-I don't recall but I think it was around 10 minutes to anchor a gantry. It then needs to be filled with the needed supplies. once all supplies are in the gantry it will convert to a POCO at the next down time.
4- As stated above it will come out at at a preset time set by the owner. I believe it is a minimum 12 hour reinforcement, So for example if you set it to 21:00 and someone reinforces it at 19:00 it will not come out two hours later at 21:00 but the next 21:00 after the minimum 12 hours. Which would be 21:00 the next day actually being 26 hours from the reinforcement. Not sure if the +/- 3 hours applies to POCO's |

A POCO must be > 350 km's from the edge of the planet (the edge is when the planet is 0m from you). A POCO cannot be on grid with a moon's warp-in point (this way people can't put an armed POS next to the POCO). A POCO must be close to the planet... the maximum range is dynamic...

It takes FIVE SECONDS to anchor a gantry... and once you move the materials into it, it takes ~30 seconds to upgrade. So putting up a POCO is very quick, easy, and painless. The painful (generally time consuming) part is shooting the damn CO to put up your own!

When you configure POCO's, you get to set tax rates based on corp standings, and you get to set the RF exit window. This window is 2 hours long, and the POCO will exit RF "sometime" during that window. |
