I know this could go under the ship forums, but im a newbie so I will put it in both places.
I have this link to a thread about ships http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=138274
But I am still confused as to what these ships are good against... this thread talks about how to equip these ships but I am baffled as to what types of ships work effectively against other types of ships...
Is the end game all battleships, are there any smaller ships that compair to the larger ships as far as winning in fights... or is everything based on skill. If thats the case could a frigate take out a battleship(Doubted) or a cruiser take out a destroyer??? You might be able to tell I am totally clueless...
If there is a thread that talks about these things i would appreciate a link to them or any advice.
I want a smaller stealthier ship but have no idea if I will even be able to compete in any form of pvp, and I can always have a larger ship if it is nessicary to pvp.

Funny enough, for a single frigate to take out a BS, you would probably need more skills then you would need to fly the battleship. I've seen interceptor pilots take down NPC battleships solo (before new missle patch), and I myself have taken down a player in a geddon with an Assault ship. Having said that you will notice that the fore mention frigates all require a month + of training to even fly let alone equip.
The key answer is to know your enemy. If you are going up against a Ammarian opponent then you need to increase your EM / Thermal resistances in either shield or armor (Your choice depending on what you have a repair / booster for). You would also select your ammunition to do damage they would be weak to. This will increase your chances of living greatly. ----
Now Recruiting, ingame channel "I G" or convo me ingame. |

What a ship is good at depends mostly by how you fit it. A battleship fitted to fight against other battleships is going to have a hard time against a frigate for example.
But if you fit said battleship with noses and webs and smaller guns it will make short work of any smaller ship that comes close.
Destoryer are between frigate and crusier in size, most cruisers should have no problems with destoryers (but again depends on what both has fitted).

Untill you have enough experience tour choice of ship will have more to do with your skills and how much isk you can afford to loose. Then let that decide what you try to hunt.

In larger fights any size of ship has their purpose.
Frigates are used for tackling purposes (pervent your enemy from warping away), destroyers for anti frigate warfare, battleships and cruisers as damage dealers.
Frigate fleets are also very popular for deep strike missions in enemy territory. they move very fast compared to a fleet of battleships and 5+ frigs will kill any lone battleship in a matter of seconds.

It HAS to be the rax you pervert from warping away. HAS to be.
