Look at the rate of unexpected downtimes, sudden freezes, node drops etc. etc. in the recent month. I think if this goes on much longer it won't be a successful single server mmorpg for uch longer.
Dude, a few nodes drops and some sudden freezes and you think that EVE will lose players... Me and other players thats been playing this game since BETA and the accual release have been through alot worse then a few node drops, and we¦re still here. You should¦ve been here during the time when you could warp to stations running from NPCs and then "bounce back" to the belt finding youself in a POD - back in the days when BSs could only be bought by the most dedicated players and many many RL hours of mining.
I remember leaving EVE for WoW because i were tired of CCP never getting to it to balance the blasterthron. I were so sure to leave EVE permanent because i had tested WoW through Korean,US & Euro BETA and i loved every minute of it - so much i thought about selling my EVE account to buy a new graphicscard. Needless to say i dont regret not selling it.
From my PoW i¦d say that sure... WoW is fun , the first few weeks, but then you start to see thatall the things you see in EVE, are in WoW aswell. The Unbalance between classes, the lagg, the crashes. EVE is not worse then any other mmorpg out there, infact - i belive that its better.
Im probably one of the biggest whiners when it comes to losing ships and getting my battleship balanced out, but i do belive that no matter what - i¦ll probably stick around for atleast another few years unless i go blind.
But i have to admitt that there is one thing that has been on my mind lately. If CCP are hunting the "barriers" so much and posting on the news everytÝme we break a new "record", why hasnt CCP released EVE into the asian market, or over the world in total. If they did, i belive that this universe would be fully populated very fast.
But then again, after seeing that 200 ppl does to the local in Agil on a saturday, maybe i should be thankfull.
Anyhew, EVE rocks and i hope that it¦ll keep rocking like the Rolling Stones YARRR.
I might have ATUK in my tag, but i have OC in my DNA
