Amusingly I was looking through an old red dwarf episode when I came across a rather amusing tidbit of information.

In the episode VI 02 (Legion) Kryten mentions a few strange cuttleries among them the "Jovian bogelhoops", because of this I am curious to know if there is a dwarf fan in CCP, the jove concept it borrowed from another source or if its a total coincidence.

Anyone?

Also if you watch the anime, Nadesico, you will know that the enemy that the humans are fighting are called the Jovians. At least this is true in English, I cannot say if it is true in other languages as well.

I think the term "Jovians" is usually used in SciFi for the inhabitants of the planet Jupiter.

Jove is short for Jupiter, or the God of Thunder in Roman Mythology. Its no coincidence that its used a lot.

There's that,

but then maybe it's because of Roman mythology regarding the diety -Jupiter??

This thread is really funny if you imagine everyone discussing this using the voice of the comic book store owner in the Simpsons.
