less than 7 jumps from jita. there are asteroid belts that are near untouched even 23 hours after dt.
cry more. |

2. If mining in hi-sec isn't giving you the profits you expect, and you aren't even going to consider going to low or null, then that's your problem.
if high sec isn't giving him the profits he wants, the mining isn't for him. it's the most lucrative place in eve to mine last i checked. |

Hell. Remove low-sec belts and force miners come play in 0.0. Might get ganked more, but at least that fun.
complains about risk averse players.
tells them to mine in the safest area of eve.
not sure if ****** or sarcastic. |

then why would you mine in null sec, it's already less isk/hour. |

To answer that first question, yes. Yes we do. Tritanium is the basic building block of EVERYTHING and pyerite is pretty close to that too. That was partially rhetorical. Of course those are the two most needed minerals in volume, but why do they remain in such high value? They are so abundant that they should be driven into the ground in value. The botting thing sorta makes sense....maybe. Because 0.0 mineral supply is grossly imbalanced towards the ABCs.
just to illustrate the point malcanis makes; the most lucrative grav site in 0.0 contains exactly 0 veld, pyrox, and plagi. |

dark heartt wrote:Exactly. While 0.0 really only mine the ABCs highsec is the bottleneck for all of the low ends. That is why mining in highsec (esp mining veld) still remains profitable and there are still teams of guys (and bots I assume) flying around targeting purely veld and scordite.
not entirely true. they have to mine everything in a grav site they have no choice about that, the issue is that there's simply no low ends in a large grav site and the overall value of that grav site is brought down by having to mine terrible ores like spod/gneiss.
however the mineral composition of a large grav site is very biased towards ABC minerals, megacyte and zydrine.
adding more low end minerals to terrible ores like gneiss/spod would be an excellent way to solve this problem but i and many other people have written about it a lot and most of them more eloquently than i. also, i don't want to derail this thread too much so i won't get in to it here. |

it probably won't be for long, with odyssey set to address resource distribution and all... although until fanfest we have no idea what changes will happen. |
