Hi all, Well i'm getting tired of finding asteroid fields when i get on eve at my time frame.
This is due to the fact that reboot time for eve is at 3am my time, so when i get on 6 hours later, there are no asteroid fields left in high sec to spend productive mining time on.
They are mostly depleted.
I have moved several times, going some days up to 6 jumps in a retriever to find anything cause local systems are empty, that is a waste of my real game time money.
And going to null or low sec, LOL, why, us newbs are already getting ganked in high sec mining belts, why should i add to my frustrations, protection is not always guaranteed.
Am sorry to say, i might be looking at quitting this game, not favourable for north american market.
Any ideas, suggestions or areas of amarr i have not mined in, or anyone feeling up to helping this new player out, that would be most welcome.

Grind faction with Zoar and Sons and come to Providence. You can mine in R3 and refine in Misaba. Use a venture for the first month or so while you learn who is blue and who is red. Erm down time my end is 11am... When I am online at 9am (22hours after downtime)on a weekend I can still find belts in hisec that are full.
Ichinumi in Caldari Hisec usually has loads of asteroids...Have a route around and you can find loads of belts with loads of roids in. You just have to do the job and actualy look for them rather than expect CCP to give you them on a silver platter. Don't move 5 or 6 jumps...move lots of jumps away. Or look for a nice 0.5 system with a lowsec system next door. Most noobs don't mine there for fear of getting ganked. Just take a risk, this game after all is unforgiving and harsh so risks must be taken.
Best tip would be to move away from the starter systems as they get mined out really quickly... It's human nature to want to explore. To find your line and go beyond it. The only limit, is the one you set yourself. |

1. There are plenty of belts in hi-sec, much more than there should be to be honest. If you can't find one you aren't looking for them at all.
2. If mining in hi-sec isn't giving you the profits you expect, and you aren't even going to consider going to low or null, then that's your problem. Watch Fred Fred Frederation and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? if high sec isn't giving him the profits he wants, the mining isn't for him. it's the most lucrative place in eve to mine last i checked. |

Hell. Remove low-sec belts and force miners come play in 0.0. Might get ganked more, but at least that fun. |

Look, you should find people to play with. A group. Then you should go to nullsec. And mine. And plex. And rat. And PvP.
Play this game. Hiding in hisec looking for 'roids to shoot is the least imaginative way to play this game.
Work with other people. Take some calculated risks. Explore the universe, most of it has already been settled for you, and in many cases, Null systems can be a lot safer than hisec. Tears will be shed and pants will need to be changed all round. |

you need a survey ship to scout out belts. anything fairly fast that can tank belt rat spawns will do really, just stick a survey scanner and a MWD in the mid slots and off you go.
trying to find belts in a retriever is going to suck your mind. freelance space bum |

Lots of bare belts around even just after DT. They don't respawn huge roids every DT, which the Euro players then strip before you get to them everyday. If you want big juicy roids you need to find an out of the way system that no one else has bothered with yet. |

There is no lack of roids in highsec.
If you really can't find any in the usual places and do not want to leave your current location at all, then just spawn them yourself. If you do spawn roids by yourself, make sure to clean up the mess. If you don't, well, it was your barge .
Just to make this really clear: There is no lack of roids in highsec! Remove insurance. |

LOL oh so wrong, currently 11.00 GMT is 12.00 BST(UK), 13.00 CEST(Western Europe), 14.00 EEST (Eastern Europe) and 15.00 MSKS (Moscow), all of which fall within the working day. From the OPs post he's logging in 6 hours after downtime, which incidentally is within a couple(at most) hours that most western europeans would be logging in after a days work and some food, and only around 3 hours after the Eastern Europeans and Russians would be logging in.
TL;DR there's plenty of rocks to munch, look to your own lazy arse before blaming others for an inability to find them. I can log in now (8.5 hours after downtime) and be mining pretty much instantly, in highsec, just off of the pipe between Jita and Amarr. A war hasn't been fought this badly since Olaf the Hairy, High Chief of all the Vikings, accidentally ordered 80,000 battle helmets with the horns on the inside. |

By some freak coincidence, some of my alts mine in a system exactly 6 jumps from Amarr, and I still find belts to mine in, in that one system, 2 hours before downtime. If you can't find any belts 18 hours before downtime...there's a problem. Did you go 6 jumps from Amarr in the direction of Jita, or something? Go the other way. |

So move your 'home' station to somewhere that has better roid availability. You gotta go where the resources are.
For example, I up and moved my manufacturing operation a few months ago, because my 'home' station was getting too popular and the queues were getting long. So I packed up everything and shipped it out a few jumps to settle down in pastures new. Turns out, it was a much better decision; it also allowed me to move my refining and missioning operations there as well due to standings, and it's not much further from trade hubs. **** |

If there are untouched fields in the most obvious and convenient mining spots (e.g. Oiniken, 31 belts 5 jumps from Jita) nine hours after downtime, then it is not even remotely a lack of asteroids, and NA is most certainly not missing out.
