Hello all, my first and last post. My character was called Sumanaptra and I was CEO of Universal Exports. I'm quitting eve, why you ask?
Simple - The game is buggy, boring and the customer service is extremely poor. To think that I have to pay for the privelidge of playing is a joke. IMHO this game is in its dieing throws with little new user uptake and waning interest of existing members. The reasons for this are numerous and I remember way back just after release when fanbois really put down anyone who spoke out abut how crap Eve was. The Fanbois were wrong, time has told its tale.
I think the game was rushed out of Beta because the dev team knew that they couldnt compete against the likes of SWG and other yet to be released ORPG's. As a UK player who has played both Eve and latterly SWG it has made me realise how bad eve actually was and I would imagine once UK general release of SWG happens Eve will be an empty place.
I urge all UK players to import SWG, its a superior MMORPG and what I have tasted so far leaves Eve standing way back. Dont believe me? See for yourself.

SWG frankly sucks right now, give it a few more months, i played beta almost a year before it went live and every thing that you say bout eve is EXACTLY what 90% of betattesters say bout swg.

Not getting a reply to numerous petitions and emailing support direct. Even a reply to acknowledge my concerns would have been appreciated but instead I got nothing. I guess it all comes down to an experience that is FUN first and foremost and Eve has been short on that aspect for a while.
I have so far encountered no problems with SWG and the only thing eve has on SWG is a good ingame chat medium - go figure?

After looking at SWG and reading their forums it seems they have just as many bugs if not more than eve.
Perhaps these will be all fixed for the UK release in december, who knows. I will probably buy it at that point and give it a whirl, however I imagine by then the eve story arc will be in full swing and we'll be seeing the best of eve.
So it will be then and not now that I will make my decision regarding the future of eve with me. At the moment I'm really enjoying playing and have not yet been bitten by the I must own a BS to enjoy eve.

I agree what you have said mostly but to move to would be the worst idea possible. It has to be the single worst game i have played in my life. It looks awful, it plays like a dog and and imo its completely ****. I would advise anyone not to buy swg, as everyone i know who has cancelled their subscription after the first week.

This game is so set to be great, i can see it, YOu must get into the universe.
Like the venal alliance and the Fountain alliance, Major game plot's atm,
M0o Corp Ya gotta love em, and there secret financial backer - love to know that story
The Dark shadow of TTI - Very cool
how could you not love the stories of these things, when this game's population increases its just going to get better and better.

Bought it, played it, quit after a week. It literally takes a week to figure out that game is complete crap.
Yeah nothing says "Star Wars" more than running around in a field punching a moose in the face.

My opinions and my choices, who are you people anyway? This was meant to be a explanation to people I have known and talked to in game. So far no-one who has replied has entered this category! Therefore who are you talking to if not yourself?
I get the impression that most if not all are simply waiting for a post to arrive that they can jump on tha band-wagon with. Its somewhat sad.

I remember you SUM, we used to share the same system for a HQ, ive spoken to a few of your members before.
I'm surprised to see you leave actually. Things sometimes get boring as CEO of a small corp, i two felt it untill i started using my imagination and started working a bit more proactive. I would urge you to not quit just yet and instead try something else.
Incase you might want to change your mind talk to me ingame i'm sure i can make you see some of the more intresting angels of EVE.
Lets get one things straight im no fanboy and i do see problems in EVE but i also have found that EVE can be somuch more then what it seems at first. I'd like to 'infect' you with this idea.
Il talk to some of your people ingame, i hope you haven't deserted your corp yet completely..

All this star wars talk has shifted a horrid image in my head wich i witnessed once while watching the conan show...
Premiere of the 'attack of the clones' film by lucasarts.
hundreds of sw fanboys standing outside the theatre waiting to get in all dressed up in their star wars attires of jedis, sith ect...
So freaking pathetic...
I like star wars movies, infact i love them. The hype around them is more then i can take though, the truth is people will eat up ANY product wich has a star wars 'feel' to it...
Now i dont have anything against star wars games in generals, i just hate the crappy ones who make amazing successes because it has a star wars label on it...
What i would love to see is an EVE like game with star wars dressing...SWG is NOT this game infact swg is just another EQ but this time you get to play with yoda and obi-one instead of trolls and ogres O_o
