Hello. Over the weekend I attempted 3 times to upgrade my account. Each time resulted in a failed attempt. Because it was an overseas purchase (repeated attempts) it set off fraud detection on the card which contacted me within minutes of the 2 nd attempt. After verifying w/ me that everything was kosher, they then said I needed to talk to my bank card provider regarding the failed payments. Tried a fourth time today and was excited to see a 29.95$ 90 day + free ship offer and then it failed again.. Called the bank today, they said everything was ok and should be processing fine. They looked in to it further for me and said that the transaction makes two hops, through Great Britain and then to Iceland. As a result of these multiple hops it interferes with the verification process potentially and that CCP needs to manually verify the information.
I have already filed a petition regarding this in hopes of getting a hasty response. I am posting here to see if others have had this issue before and if so, what methods they used to fix the issue, or if the described solution above is indeed the solution.
Thanks for your help and time. |

Yes, it happens to many people the only way to rectify this through your bank. Which you've already contacted them so it's their problem. Your petition will help CCP in knowing that your a valid customer. The thing is they don't own a bank and can't actually change the outcome of your purchase. |

That is not what the bank has said, which is why I am at an issue now. The purchase is ok and verified by the bank. It's CCP's end that isn't verifying the full address and pin according to the bank. |

This problem drives people through the roof so maybe be a little prepared to wait, I know getting your first account you can't wait to activate it. Just keep trying it does sort itself after a while. |

I had a similar problem when I upgraded my account. Luckily my bank (Chase) just sent me an email to authorize the payment. I guess the issue was how the payment was going out of country. |

This is getting absurd. Just got off the phone with the bank again. Their customer service is phenomenal. They got in touch with card services which my visa is handled by and they explained to me now restrictions could be listed to this company through great Britain due to a massive amount of fraudulent activities. If they opened for me to make a purchase, then it's automatically lift for everyone supposedly leading to more potential fraudulent activities. This is the only method I am using to pay for this game so if CCP is incapable of fixing this on their end then I guess I am done at this point. Quite upsetting really. I've never en ounterdx Su h an issue and I order from Brazil and other foreign countries regularly.

How does a failed authorization imply I don't have a job? Are you just intentionally trolling without providing any constructive/supportive feedback? These deals hosted by CCP are the only methods to getting free ships + cheap game time that I am aware of. If there are other methods then I would certainly entertain those.
I use different cards for specific purposes. Like I said, this bank card is for activities such as EvE. |

I tried to pay CCP via paypal but I got the same result. No one else seems to offer the types of deals CCP does so it's quite frustrating. To play the game, I am forced to go through a third party vendor, potentially. |

We aren't CCP, so we can't look how many Petitions are in the queue, what research they have to do to find out what is wrong, etc.
It can be minutes (which it isn't) but also weeks (my longest petition I had was close to 2 months for something trivial). When a WoW player leaves to return to WoW, the avg. IQ of both games rises. Professional Forum Thread locker. |

Unfortunately, it's not CCP's fault. Players in the US and Canada have the same problem. That they refused to allow the transaction to go through is kind of odd, though -- they should have no problem authorizing a single transaction once they know you're the authorized user of the card.
I'd call the bank back and get some more specific details, and take heart that they're actively protecting you from potential credit-card fraud -- believe me, that's one mess you do not want to have to clean up. I can't get rid of my darn signature!-á Oh, wait.... |

Your bank is bad, and they convinced you this is CCP's fault, but it is clearly their own regulations causing the problem, as you just stated. C'mon now. |

"Great Britian" doesn't really seem to be a place where "massive amounts of fradulent activities" would happen ... I mean, I guess it's possible, but fradulent CC activity is more something I'd attribute to non-first-world countries. If you read, it's not my bank. It's the Visa company the bank gets the cards through. The bank has nothing to do with the 'regulations/limitations' attached to the card. |

I already did this since it was 5$ but I'm debating on just throwing in the towel completely because I can't get the power of 2 deals or plex deals that are purchasable only through CCP so being someone that likes to purchase in 'bulk' and saving money over time, it's an issue.
To those suggesting paypal, I've already tried and I'm having the exact same issue. |

Ok so I went and picked up two prepaid giftcards, one through visa and one through american express. Because I was so bright, I failed to read the extremely fine print on the back which said the cards are only useable in the United States.
I wanted to do a buddy program thing for myself so I could get a plex on my main account that way, since I have no other means of buying PLEX from CCP. Freighters cost 1.5b and I want to be a hauler and evidently no one really employs T1 indy's to haul things. To immediately do something I think I will enjoy, I see this plex thing being the only real choice.
That being said, I HAVE read the fineprint on CCP's stipulations for what rewards to 'recruiter' account and am worried I'll end up choosing the wrong item to upgrade an account with and miss out on the PLEX deal, like I did when I made a 2nd account for $5 via amazon.
I'd appreciate any help trying to circumvent this matter. Thanks.
Quote:To be eligible for rewards, the new Buddy account needs to be activated and the subscription fee paid by using Credit/Debit cards, PayPal, WebMoney Transfer, paysafecard, ETC, PLEX, Nexon, Ukash, iDeal, Yandex, Amazon Game Connect and any additional payment methods accepted by CCP from time to time. To be eligible for the rewards, the Buddy account subscription fee may not be paid using any of the following methods: Direct Debit or CD Keys, including CD Keys purchased or received from non-CCP sources and online stores such as, but not limited to: Amazon starter pack, Steam Store, Direct2Drive, Gamers Gate, Impulse Driven.
The way this reads then, I could order an ETC via shattered crystal then redeem it to activate my new account and my main (this account) would be granted the plex? |

Alright, through no ones help but my own, I finally found out that Amazon also sales CCP PLEX, in two packages 3 for 49.99 and 6 for 99.99.
I picked up the 3 plex deal and it took exactly one hour and I was able to redeem the PLEX. I'm posting this info for anyone that may come along later having the same issues and trying to figure out a workaround as I certainly had a hard time finding anything on google or these forums or the players. |

I don't see how my few bazaar posts have any impact on how I am new or not. I've been reading the bazaar for a few days at the least and it's not hard to become educated on what are good deals and what deals are people just trying to resale. I've been playing MMO's since 97, so if you've played one you've damn near played them all save reskinning them such as here where your 'avatar' is a ship instead of a jumpy person. These markets don't change much between themselves, EvE just has a 'legalized' form of account sales.
If I wasn't new then I would have had no reasons to ask how payments worked. That being said, I completely glossed over the fact that particular fellow you mention suggested I could get PLEX from amazon. I had literally just purchased the $5 starter pack from them so when he said amazon, the PLEX didn't even register. I never even saw it when I bought the starter pack, as you can note me quoting him on this 2nd page stating that I had used amazon to purchase the starter pack.
You're pretty good at being a passive troll though after having read quite a few of your posts. |

Guess which category are classed under.
Also. Giving advice in the form that might sojnd harsh isnt trolling. Its giving information as it is. If you are offended by it, it shows what kind of player you are. Got plenty of people who are grateful for the advice given and some people (and even I find it weird) class me as a friend even after I completely raged at them. Those are the really good eve players, they can stand a beating and yet see the positive side of it.
Act like an ass. Be prepared to be treated like an ass. As like a friendly guy. Be prepared with a lot of happy people helping you.
Who ever said I was offended by your passive trolling? :( Why you gives yourself so much credit? I mean, I even said you were pretty good at trolling passively and you seem to take offense to that and write up an entire paragraph of who/what/when/why/where. I guess we see what kind of player that makes you? Maybe it's you getting trolled at this rate ;x
Did you not like the fact I acknowledged my mistake of the fellow who listed the amazon link where I thought he was talking about starter packs instead of PLEX? or you just wanted to keep passively trolling? Or you just hitting up the borums cause you can't log in atm?
ps: I don't think you understand the meaning of the word beating. This is not possible via forums.
