It allows you to search for a solar system and display it in 3D, not your usual flat or abstract map, but a zoomable, rotateable, pannable 3D visualisation of EVE's solar systems. Rotate - Left Mouse Button Pan - Right Mouse Button Zoom - Middle Mouse Button It takes a while for the program to load up the database when it's started (the search button becomes active when the load is completed), but after that it let's you see a solar system in 3D and has an added feature, bookmark visualisation for all you safespot hunters. The safespot hunting bit was made before probes entered the game but I left it in there. On hhe left you can select an object in space and see the distances to other things, blue lines are Planet<->Star and green lines are Gate<->Gate. You'll need Java and java3d to run it. You can download EVE System Plotter here (~12MB). Use the command file to launch it, it needs a lot of RAM to store all of EVE's systems in the database and it depends on how fast your system is to load the data. Install 3 seperate and non user findly things, 2 without any type of automated setup at all, and expect them to all work perfectly... I followed the directions 100% but it wont work. DLed and installed java (with beans or whatever that frick thing was) and then unzipped the java3d thing exactly where the archaic install file tolf me, and it seemed to go in fine, then activated the command file in your ****ty totally non user friendly program and it just gave a text error which meant nothing. Learn how to make REAL programs that install themselves etc and quit fooling with lame weirdo junk.

It could very well be that something concerning my OS version, a previous install of java that is unknown, a corrupted file, or any number of things, mixed with the complexity of the install, is why it will not work. Since the installation is so non-standard and long, there could be any number of crazy things wrong with some part of it depending on each individual users resources. But it is PLAIN TO SEE that this is NOT a user friendly installation (over 500 MB to download for starters). It is not a matter of opinion. A guy makes a program and wont do anything to give exact, direct install instructions, or compile it in some fashion that it comes with the library files it needs and installs itself etc. Becasue of the complexity most people who read his post are not even going to try to install it, and of those who do I bet a fair % will fail. The install will be out of the question for many people who cant invest in the time/effort it takes to DL over 500 MB of data just for some novices poorly designed program. A smart programmer would not release a program that is so hard to install. Period.

You'll need java3d for OSX (no idea if that even exists) and the CMD file really only gives Java the additional RAM required to load all the EVE systems into the application database. Id be willing to bet a good portion of the Eve audience has compiled their own kernel before, this install is simple and a first release it looks like. Escrow ignore hell, we need forum ignore.
