heres my setup:
HI SLOTS 2 800mm Heavy Carbine Repeating Howitzer I ammo: Titanium Sabot L 4 Large Malkuth Cruise Missle Launcher I ammo: Dragon F.o.F Cruise Missile I ammo: Obliterrator F.o.F Cruise Missile I 2 Shock 'Limos' Siege Missile Bay I ammo: Inferno Torpedo I
MEDIUM SLOTS 3 Large Capacitor Batteries I 1 100mn AfterBurner I 1 Sensor Booster I
LOW SLOTS 3 Reactor Control Units I 1 1600 Reinforced Nanobfiber Plate I 1 1600 Reinforced Titanium Plate I
When I hit a ship, its usually about 80 damage even at the proper range if im luck, maybe 130 damage. Should I be wrecking havoc with my setup? Be honest its im still learning :)

I'll start off by assuming this is a serious question and not a joke.

Read this, then read it again. And again
I can only infer that you are newer to this game then the character you are using.
I seriously suggest you buy a smaller ship and learn how to use it, then work your way up. Your setup is criminally poor.
Here's a few points to ponder 1) Why fit cap batteries when the only item on the ship that uses a meaningful amount of cap is the afterburner?
2) How do you repair damage done to you? Read the ^^linky
3) Battleship sized weapons dont hurt little ships - that is what you are hitting isnt it? Read the linky^^
Learn the basics of the game, seriously. I'm surprised you arent dead. Sorry to sound harsh

1. Fofs are usless. I've never seen someone use them, despite what anyone says about how they help you when you're jammed.
2. No tank on the ship. If you want to go for armor, swap the batteries, afterburner, and sensor booster out for the best cap rechargers you can get. Then throw on 2 large repairers and 2 hardeners and 1 reactor control unit. I'm not too sure if that will work with 6 cruise launchers, but thats what you should aim for.

The best thing for Caldari ships is tank your sheild. This is my setup. 6 cruise or seige launchers or mix depend on targets. 2 large power suckers 1 T2 sheild boost, 1 boost amp, 1 T2 Cap battery or named & 3 sheild hardeners, swop as per mission. 5 T2 power diag systems. If you can not fit these drop the power suckers. This is ment to be a battle tank not a quick kill. If your cap drops warp out and come back, dont let it fall to low or your dead

My Raven setup for soloing the easier level 4's is currently:
HI: 4 Cruise, 2 Seige and 2 Heavy Nos
Mid: 1 XL Shield booster, 1 Small Shield Boster, 2 hardeners (Kin and therm), Shield Boost Amp and a free slot for an AB, TP, Webber or EM hardener depending on mission.
Low: 3 PDU II's and 2 Ballistic Control systems
I can run the Small shield booster and the 2 or 3 hardeners all the time and not drain my Cap, giving me great shield recharge and the option of the XL boost in tight moments.
Most of my kit is good named or T2 but it works well, I tend to drop the siege for extra cruise when blitzing through level 3 missions and have been tempted to pop a couple of Arby assault launchers in to help with the frigates.

I'm not all that new to Eve, but lets just say I'm still a noob and #3 just saved me a lot of future trouble. I guess it makes sense now. Low experienced player flies into a low security zone and gets one shotted while coming out of warp or through a gate.
Question though, do heavy assault ships count as a big ship or a smaller one?
And is it best to carry powerful weapons on a big ship or mix them up or just refit for what you think you are going to be doing?

My suggestion would be to go back and learn the game holding your ebay items in reserve until you know how to use them.
On that note, some suggestions.
Read up on the missile system, the recent changes will make it fairly critical if you want to fly a Raven. As for "big" or "Little" ships, open the market and Show Info on the ships, and do the same to your missiles. Look at the signuature radius on the ship, if it is noticably smaller then the missile you will do much less damage. HAC's are Cruisers and as such will take reduced damage from Cruise and Torps.
As for to use a mix or not? That will greatly depend on what your doing. If your solo hunting in belts, you will want to use a mix of weapons. If your doing agent missions I suggest going in with light weapons first to clear all the frigates/cruisers then coming back with Torps to deal with any battleships.

you will find that a hac has great resistances and can greatly reduce damage from most types of weapon i know that a wraith does me about 67 damage per missile |

Depends on their Sig. Radius. The bigger that is the "bigger" the ship to hit. Read up on it here.

If you change your weapons so they are right for the job, you are sure to do better then if you try to go for one-setup fits all.
You'll also learn more about what works and what doesn't by experimenting, then you will if you stick with the same thing always.
