I don't think that's correct. I was not there, but from information I heard from the people involved that Dominix was not a member of the Venal alliance or the m0o/sinister invaders, and I believe that the m0o guys killed it, but if they hadn't the Venal Alliance probably would have. I heard it was someone who made the mistake of thinking there's such a thing as "neutral" in Venal. :) The losses for the two main sides included one amarr battleship from TTI and Shollos's scorpion from Sinister. I'm not sure on other cruiser losses, but I lost one of my blackbirds a couple hours earlier as they were entering Venal, when I jumped Lord Zap's battleship at a gate and successfully jammed him, only to find that he was not the only enemy battleship in town. :P
That's also not correct. Only a couple of corporations within the Venal Alliance engage in piracy--the rest are peaceful corporations who have claimed this territory and are willing to defend it to create a familiar and safe community for their members within. Most corporations in the Venal Alliance have absolutely nothing to do with the external pirating activities of a few of the other members, such as Space Invaders. ___________________________________________ Space Invaders website: http://www.si-corp.net |

This is not something anybody's denying. I'm the CEO of Space Invaders, which is a full pirate corporation and a member of the Venal Alliance. The Gang and the Venal Guardians are also open pirates, though they have relatively few active members at the moment. Much of The Gang recently joined SI. However, the many non-pirate corporations of the Venal Alliance do not participate in any way in the unlawful activities of the pirate members. We do fight side by side against enemies who attack our common interests in our 0.0 home region, but they do not join us for our aggressive PVP activity outside the region. By the way, I can back Gaelen's report of last night's events. It's accurate.
He's not quite totally backing what you said. Your original post said that the Dominix that was lost was a part of the Venal Alliance, and it was not. It was a third-party bystander who probably would have been tolled by force by Venal forces (or kicked out of the region, or killed) if m0o hadn't found him first.
As I understand it he was there without a pass, but I'm not positive.
Our alliance is a complicated thing, because it contains both lawful and unlawful corporations. It is not an alliance in which all members work together on all activities all the time. It is more of a non-aggression pact with an agreement to fight together against aggressive enemies that pose a common threat to both our interests, such as m0o-sinister. They don't provide us with minerals except what we might happen to buy from them on the open market at higher-than-NPC prices. So they are no more guilty of supporting criminal activity than any other corp which a) sells things on the open market sometimes and b) has a non-aggression pact with a pirate corp. Those are both very common traits. You're being a scumbag of a journalist at the moment, Morkt, trying to pressure people into classifying themselves with a misleading term. When you say they're in a "piratical alliance," most people will interpret that to mean that they're pirates, and soon you'll have people running around exclaiming, "TTI admits they're pirates! OMG!" They are not pirates and they do not contribute to the piracy activities of their neighbors. This has been clarified well by all parties involved. So just drop it with them. I had thought that maybe the Big Bang Burger Bar was going to become something of a New York Times of Eve when I first saw what Morkt seemed to be doing, but now it's very clear they're just the National Inquirer... wee yay for celebrity gossip. :P ___________________________________________ Space Invaders website: http://www.si-corp.net |

[5] M0rpheus I wasn't quite traveling alone. :) Well, that wasn't the idea, anyway. The Venal Alliance had one battleship alone at the gate to 6NJ and said as I came into his system that Lord Zap was there at his gate, so I immediately warped over to assist by jamming Lord Zap, which I did successfully with my blackbird, but the other VA ship had taken a lot of damage so he was jumping out as I arrived and jammed Zap. Unfortunately there were a couple of sinister scorpions there as well and they warp jammed and killed me moments before other VA ships arrived, including Astaroth in his megathron who made all 3 m0o-sinister battleships run away with hull damage. ___________________________________________ Space Invaders website: http://www.si-corp.net |

Name one such major alliance. You can't. There aren't any.
Since when do they rely on the pirates? Never.
Wait, so now we're hiding in their shadow, relying on them? Which is it? We rely on them, or they rely on us? Make up your mind. The reality is that there is no reliance at all. We've struck up a mutually beneficial relationship. TTI can hold their own without us and we can hold our own without them. Very few aggressors can hold their own against our combined power, and that safety is an advantage for both of us. You're just being trashy now, Morkt--at every detail you scream "AHA!" and dishonestly imply false degrees of collaboration or reliance. You're not a journalist, you're a finger-pointer, and when you see that neither of our organizations is doing anything unbecoming of our roles, you're disappointed so you've taken to grasping for straws. Not gonna work. ___________________________________________ Space Invaders website: http://www.si-corp.net |
