Originally by: Jennai I clicked undock in oursulaert, alt-tabbed out, loaded the forum, read this thread, posted this reply, and I still have not finished undocking
and i was able to dock, unload stuff, load new stuff and undock there in 90 sec
lucky me
after waiting 5 minutes on the black screen and still not undocking, I quit and restarted the game and it only took 45 seconds to log in.

Well the high records are not necessarly due to that, I mean the community of users is like what around 70k now? I'm not really supprised to see that 16k of those decided to sign-in at the same time, especially on a Sunday which is obviously the day most people are home, especially Americans which I'm sure are the largest user makeup in EVE.
Cya next Sunday, I wana see 17k baby!

If I remember correctly in some dev blog possibly, or just a dev post the majority of users were i the UK and then the next highest was somewhere else in europe.

i would bet my house on Amercialns being the largest users in eve :P
i would say that the massive influx is in part down to the newsletter that went out a week ago or whatever it was. The subscripitions and online useres have boosted because old ex players (like me) have come back becuase of this funky new stuff going on.
the question is will they stay or will the go again and drop the servers back down a little.

I think it's alot more busy during UK times tbh.. I don't know stats of course, but just because you see are on US times and see more US people doesn't mean their is more. _________________________________________________________

Edited by: Layrex on 25/09/2005 22:05:37 It's now 11pm in the uk. That would make it prime-time in North America, about 6pm. And there are now only 14k on the server, when we went over 16k earlier.
So we'll have that house of yours please Ma'Bor. ------------------------------

wow last time we had this post going to 15k we had about 70 people posting about it and then 200 in the actual post. Now we have about 20 people replying to this new record.
I guess record after record after record gets boring:)
Up we go.
Go ccp!

I think the new subs and the new user count is largely due to the new Trailer Eve never fades and the new advertising CPP is doing.

Actually, if you've been keeping up with the news, Dark and Light will launch in November even though it's nowhere close to launch state. Even the developers themselves have said that the game is incomplete and that the majority of their post-launch population will only be their fans. Current beta players are complaining about lack of content and an empty world. All this information can be gleamed from mmorpg.com.
And now we return you to your scheduled forum thread.

Congratulations to CCP and the EVE player base for raising the player count here in EVE.
I was suprisingly "lag free", but then again I seldomly frequent the heavily populated 1.0 empire agent systems.
So basically, props to all and let's make the next thread start when 20k is broken and CCP have thier new 64 bit (hopefully) servers in place. -- Intergalactic Teeth Pullers "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." Albert Einstein |

I'm sure you're right, for the most part. But you are all welcome to come over for dinner, we got plenty of soup lines about now & foodstamps/Link Cards for everyone.
Besides we got all these great cooks from every country in the world living here, what do you expect? :)

I didnt experience a lot of unusual lag either, but I rather have them add new servers, and maybe change some code to have less server-load (Instas) BEFORE the lag starts to get worse...
Btw...when you talk about "Dark & Light" ,you mean Kali?

I agree. CCP does some more agressive marketing lately - wich is great. Go EvE!
