Blasterthrons NEED MWD, Webb, Injector, Scrambler and atleast
one Mag-II, then try to add a tank that can stand up against
6 torplaunchers while trying to maintain enough cap to have
7 blasters goin with AM amo.
Your regular raven has 6 Siege, named XL s-Booster, 3 hardenders,
Amp and a scram. This setup can tank like a biatch while at the
same time easely dish out enough dmg to break a 2L-Rep tank
on a mega. One problem is that while the megathron are using
its cap to navigate, shooting and tanking, its probably getting NOSd
by the raven aswell.
Also, the damage which the megathron deals out with a "normal"
setup using 1 Mag2 is not enough to effectivly kill the ravens
regular shieldtank before the mega has run out of either cap
or lost its armor.
The thing that angers me most is that fact that the blasterthron
is THE ONLY ship that needs to have an injector fitted to be
effective, without it, its cap dies faster then you can say
blueberrypie.
I were one of the first ones to fly blasterthrons in EVE and
ive been flying them steady eversince, and i will keep flying them
untill the end of EVE - so i know what im talking about when
it comes to the issues of these ships and their problems.
A few days ago another friend of mine logged on to our TS while
we were chatting away about these problems and how to solve them
and he said something that actually made sence.
Way back, in the middle of the SA & OC war, we were both using
blasterthrons - and with huge success i might add (Bared Knows)
and he said that somehow, blasters dont seem to do the damage
they did back then.
I can remember comming out of warp in my blasterthron within
20km from an Apoc and a Scorp , using 5 Neutrons and no injector,
basically your standard setup back then.
The whole fight ended with the Apoc warping away in deep in hull
while i smashed the scorp, i was using ECCM sadly enough for the scorp.
Today i doubt that this fight wouldŠve ended that way since i feel
that the blasters today simply dont pack quiet the punch anymore
they did back then. I dont know why, i could be imagening myself
about their lower dmg, but it just feel like it.
What i dont like is that the ravens "basic tank" is enough to
keep up with the dmg of a nongank-mega long enough to to either
outlast its cap or tank.
If the raven were purely setup to tank, that i would understand
since its one mean shieldtank if it wants to, ive seen it do
incredable tanks, but IF the raven choses to mount this tank,
it should not have enough muscle to break a blasterthrons
tank of 2 L-Rep. Or as you put it
- You cant have the cookie and eat it.
Think of the blasterthron as Mike Tyson at his peak, as long as you
stay away you are ok, but if he gets close heŠll punch your lights out.
